Christina Panetta – Physical Therapist, CEO and Founder of Panetta Physical Therapy

Christina Panetta is an esteemed Physical Therapist, as well as the CEO and Founder of Panetta Physical Therapy. Her unwavering dedication to helping those in need and making a positive impact in the world has defined her career.

In 1985, Christina graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy. Immediately after graduation, she began working at the Brunswick Rehabilitation Center, where she closely collaborated with patients recovering from severe physical injuries. Her experience encompassed working with individuals with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, and burn victims. This early exposure solidified her commitment to providing quality care and support to those in critical circumstances.

Driven by her compassion and desire to assist others, Christina founded her Physical Therapy clinic. Throughout her career, she has consistently …remained dedicated to her calling to help those in need. In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina devastated numerous parishes in Louisiana and Mississippi, Christina sprang into action, working alongside local law enforcement to provide crucial medical care and aid to the affected communities.

The earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010 further compelled Christina to offer her assistance to those injured and in need. She traveled to Port Au Prince and worked tirelessly at the state hospital, providing support to distraught families. One particularly fulfilling act of humanitarian aid was successfully caring for and bringing home to the U.S. a young woman who had endured a double amputation due to the earthquake, along with her malnourished eleven-month-old baby.

Continuing her efforts to make a lasting impact, Christina dedicated the following three years to providing medical care and aid to the people of Haiti. Recognizing the overwhelming need for Physical Therapists in the region, she turned to her alma mater, Stony Brook University. Through collaboration with Richard Johnson, PT, EdD, Chairperson of the Department of Physical Therapy, and the stellar reputation of Stony Brook University, a successful partnership between Christina, Stony Brook University, and UNIFA (Université de la Fondation Dr Aristide) was established. This collaboration led to the opening of the first University Program in Physical Therapy in Haiti on October 6, 2014.

Currently residing in Oakdale, NY, Christina lives with her husband, Richard Panetta. Their household includes their beloved companions, Mana and Wolf. Wolf, now a thriving young man and gifted athlete, brings joy and vitality to the Panetta family.
