Dr. Christine Mary Chruscicki, MD

Based on my 6 months' stint with this doctor, I can confidently recommend that you do NOT seek out her practice, especially if you are underage. She puts on a great act of caring about your issues at first, but the minute you raise even a single complaint, she lets her true colors show, which is nothing but denial, deflection, and victim-blaming. Over the past 6 months we've spent many sessions together going over my past trauma, which includes emotional and physical abuse for over a decade. I actually mentioned this in our very first intake, with my husband present at the time. But apparently, she is not interested in facts, because it all got dumbed down to some sort of mild family dysfunction: At our next to last session, I was asked to "forgive" my abusers and try to reframe their action as misguided "love" (quoted from some pop-psych article no less, because I guess trauma and abuse are such basic issues that all it takes is some articles to address) as a way to "resolve my… issues". I was disgusted and upset by this suggestion and told her that while I can see it working out for other people, that it wouldn't work for me. However, rather than moving on from this point, she just doubled down and kept repeating herself. This event was extremely upsetting and made my mental health a lot worse over the following week. At our last session, when I tried to bring up this issue, she became incredibly defensive and once again steamrolled over me. There was absolutely no empathy, accountability or any interest in my side of things (which is funny because she spent hours prior preaching about empathy as a cornerstone to good communication). Both my husband and I were flabbergasted because not only was her behavior wildly unprofessional, but enormously hypocritical as a practitioner in the mental health industry. She abruptly severed our doctor-patient relationship because I dared to call her out on her lack of professionalism. Dr. C, if you're reading this, you can deny your responsibility all you want but I have made recordings. It is a one party consent state in NY in case you didn't know. If you're so confident in your version of things, surely you wouldn't have a problem if showed it to your licensing board? Also I never asked you to find articles, I was asking you if I needed a specialist. Just one more thing you would've remembered correctly had you actually been listening. You were the one who offered to find articles to read as filler material for the second half of all our sessions (because according to you, it's what you do for all your patients). Even though I never intended on receiving therapy from you since you are clearly not trauma-informed, you were the one who unilaterally decided to tack it on in order to stretch out our half an hour sessions into a full hour, which is problematic in and of itself.

Dr. Chruscicki is hands down one of the best medical professionals I've ever had the pleasure of working with. She is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough and thoughtful when dealing with patients. The fact that you can call in for appointments is a great bonus as well. I would recommend her practice to anyone looking for an accessible and amiable expert in the field.

She's always on-time, organized, on target and I always feel better after seeing her. I have OCD and anxiety - I used to hold onto thoughts and events for hours, weeks, and months after something would be happen or be said. Christine has helped me work through this with CBT and the alternative thinking. I don't cling to my thoughts and actions/actions of others like I used to. She also works with my schedule and calls me if there is a cancellation. I've seen a lot of therapists over the years and she is by far the best.

I've been seeing Dr. Chruscicki for medication management for almost six years now. I went to her when I had a relapse on my anxiety spells. We worked together very diligently to find a solution. I've appreciated her careful advice and her respect for my wishes in terms of our treatment. While our focus has been on medication, she's a great listener and very open to hearing what's on my mind. She's extremely well-organized and excellent at communication - extremely flexible in terms of scheduling and re-scheduling. Highly recommended.

Dr. Chruscicki is qualified, knowledgeable, and professional. She related very well to my son and his behaviors. He is completely trusting of her. She is kind and very down to earth.
