Dr. Christine Janice Duncan, MD

I have been a patient at women for women for over 25 years, so I am very familiar with all the doctors in the practice, and the NP. I think it is a great misrepresentation of who Dr. Duncan is by relying upon these online reviews that describe her as cold and abrupt, and therefore uncaring and dismissive. I could choose any of the other doctors in the practice to be my main doctor, but I prefer Dr. Duncan. Why? Because, I trust her. She has shown me over and over again what an excellent doctor and surgeon she is, but, also, what a beautiful person she is too. Yes, you read that right. She is quite sensitive, and also has a very witty sense of humor. Perhaps it is the long time patients of hers that really know her the best and can be most fair in a review. I wanted to respond here after reading these negative comments because I wonder sometimes if patients really consider how much doctors give of themselves continually, that can take many forms. Surgeons are often labeled cold,… most often the best ones. It isn't a lack of feeling, but rather the opposite, they take what they do so seriously, their focus is on the actions, the doings, and yes, their hands literally hold that precision, that weight of caring. Unnecessary conversation seems superfluous to people who have very disciplined personas like this. They can be abrupt or aloof to patients that feel they need to be coddled more. But this perceived caring of friendly scripted words repeated all day long for me has absolutely nothing to do with whether a doctor is exceptional or not. I prefer Dr. Duncan's direct demeanor, her organization and quickness, and those gentle hands of hers (the best there! ) to some gabbing doctor that is careless and rough. Agree that not being rushed is important when you have questions you want answered. But, come prepared and write them down. She has always answered mine as best as she can with available information. She has also respected my difference of opinion from hers on recommendations, also. What you get with Dr. Duncan is her acute observations and diagnostic intuition, that result in treatment, procedures, surgery, or preventative recommendations performed with skilled confidence and derived from research and experience that you can rely upon. She has also greatly expanded her acceptance of alternatives to traditional western care, where she thinks they are a viable treatment. Also her referrals to other surgeons for secondary opinions have been exceptional.

Very rude… no bedside manner.. talks down to you. If my child wasn’t with me .. I’d give her an earful. She should be ashamed of herself , Please do not go see her

More than once I have been to see dr. Duncan with what would be considered embarrassing issues but she is so easy and professional- I left the office feeling better than I went in. I also want to add that she is very amenable to working with me using natural remedies as opposed to pharmaceuticals which I find very refreshing and accommodating:-)

I haven't been to the Dr. In a while the wait was a while I was a little upset but once I was called they took my vitals then I had a consultant with Dr Duncan she was very professional and warm I felt very comfortable after she did the physical exam she let me how long it would take for the results .When I left I was very impressed.

I have never, ever been treated so rudely, coldly, or uncaring in my entire life. Dr. Duncan barely made eye contact with me. This was my first visit and she didn't try to engage me at all. Out of all my concerns she only addressed one of them. I will NEVER return.

Very poor beside manner .She is cold and impersonal .

She was extremely rude. Horrible bedside manner. She spent barely any time with me, made me feel extremely uncertain about my pregnancy and would not answer any questions/concerns that I had.... So disappointed that I am now requesting my entire chart be transfered to a different doctor I was recommended to. Wouldnt go back here if my life depended on it.

Dr. Duncan spends little time with you, and does not listen to concerns. She brushed off my concerns as nothing did not recommend further testing. ultimately I needed to see another OBGYN wasting two months when I could have been treated.
