BONE & JOINT team at 30 East 67th street : Besides Dr. Christine Ellie who seems to be caught in the middle of it and was nice, the whole team was incredibly careless and rude. I came with a broken foot and needed to see the doctor. I was told right away that this would cost $500 just to see her. That they had no X-ray onsite and asked me to get one done. That I would only receive the prescription if I paid right away. And that the doctor might not be there when I would be back from my X-ray. When I saw the bill, I noticed that they surcharge 10% on it. Of course, they did not care for finding a better rate for Self-Pay ( as every professional does ). When I asked for the invoice, I was told that they did not hand that out but that I should go online to print it myself. At that point, I felt so much as a business and so little as a patient that I refused to go before getting my invoice and seeing the doctor. 4 assistant were behind the desk, none of them seemed to care. When I saw… the doctor after raising the voice, I got my prescription and had to go to an x-ray place to get it done. So back to x-ray with broken foot and back to Dr. office to see her. The radiologist was not there so she had to upload the report and look at it. They had IT issues and it took some time. Not a word of the team when I walked out. We decided to see the next X-ray 2 weeks later. I decided to give them a second chance. When I came back and asked for the report of the first X-ray, I was told that they did not have it ( really ? the doctor had shown it to me ) and one of the desk agent even told me that this was belonging to Lennox Hill radiology center and that I could only get it if asking through the portal. Totally false but I guess it was to much work to print it. As I arrived late to my apt ( traffic not easy when you take the bus with a broken foot ) , I asked to see the doctor first. I was told that I had to pay before I saw the doctor. Not a word of support, just the cash. Fortunately the doctor came out at that point, saw me and took me in for the apt. In the middle of the apt the manager of the desk team bursts in the middle of my apt and tells me that I am not the one making the rules and that this is her home, her rules. I believe I was as flabbergasted as the Dr. who did not know what to do. I told her that her behavior was totally unacceptable next to totally unprofessional. She told me that as I was "invited to her home, I had to follow her rules". I responded that this was supposed to be a Foot & Ankle care service for patients and an enjoyable experience. I had to raise the voice to ask her to leave the apt and wait for the discussion outside. When I came out to pay and asked for the second report, I again got a negative answer. I believe the doctor heard that - must have been embarassed - and came out to give me a copy of the report. Clearly it was there and available but nobody cared. I believe that outside the doctor, there is nothing at BONE & JOINT 67th street that should even be reviewed with a star. Unprofessional, bored, with no empathy and no sense of Patient-Doctor privacy. An additional point is that Bone & Joint has several offices and only 1 number to reach them. You spend 10 min on the phone waiting each time.Clearly the management is eager to cut costs and maximize revenue. Needless to say that paying $500 with a surcharge of 10% with no self-pay rate, no service, no help, no X-rays does not need recommendation. I found a wonderful Foot and Ankle Doctor at $150 self-pay elsewhere. I regret the $900 I paid at BONE & JOINT. I came out of each meeting stressed and furious.

Waited 2 hours in her office to be seen by another Doctor. In the 3 hours I spent at the office, she didn't even show up leaving many patients to see another doctor who came from another location to cover her. Receptionist and doctor are very unprofessional.
