Dr. Christine Helou, MD

The greatest doctor I have ever had in my entire life! From bedside manner to transparency. Dr. Helou is an incredible surgeon! She removed a big fibroid that doubled the size of my uterus. She ensured I was informed before the surgery, up until I fell asleep from anesthesia and even when I woke up and post surgery. She cares so much about her patients. I had questions weekly as an over thinker and constant Googler and she was incredibly patient with me and answered each question I had in person and virtually. She is so quick to respond in the portal as well which is a rarity! She is the definition of excellence! If you have questions- feel free to ask me! She was absolutely incredible and I’m healing remarkably from my myomectomy!

I just had surgery - hysterectomy - and she was literally the best doctor hands down. Amazingly kind and helpful, informative and gave clear instructions, amazing bedside manner before, during and after my surgery! The folks in the office were helpful and polite! Seriously, she listened when all the other doctor's told me the pain was in my head. Thank you Dr. Helou so much!

After an in office visit with Dr. Helou, it was the first time in my life I felt discriminated against in a healthcare setting. Not only was she was extremely rude, very dismissive and spoke to me as if I wasn’t worth her time. She also completely lied to me. I had imaging done and she told me my results were fine. The imaging showed nothing. That was a lie I had findings that would require follow up care. Thankfully I am educated enough to go back and double check for myself. While I can get over the bad bed side manners . I can not get over how she completely lied to me about my results and breached her duty of care as a physician. She ended her visit with me telling me to get on birth control and to go back to my primary obgyn ( I went to Dr. Helou because she is a specialist). It is my personal opinion- if you are a black woman I would absolutely advise you to not to go to this doctor. It’s not surprising that the other bad review she got on here is from another black woman.
