Dr. Christine Anne Marino, MD

This is the first primary doctor since moving to Howard County 6 years ago, that I have been comfortable with. I like her very much. Her office has the most polite and pleasant staff I have ever had the occasion to meet in a doctor's office in recent years. I like the way Dr. Marino is interested in what I have to say and takes the time with me that I think a patient should have. Happy to be going to her.

Dr. Marino is an excellent primary care doctor, and I've been seeing her for >1 year. First, when I told her, over the phone, about having Raynaud and that my siblings have it, she didn't bother seeing me right away but immediately gave me a blood test Rx to get before seeing her. She raised the bar, higher, by calling me at 7:00 p.m.; when we didn't connect earlier in the day. How many doctors do that, these days! After seeing her, post blood test (negative), she prescribed a medication that effectively reduced the symptoms by 40%. She told me the pain would go away, but it ended up only partially lowering. She later told me it wouldn't totally go away. I forgot to ask her what the blood test was supposed to indicate. Two more example of her knowledge are: 1. One-upping my cardiologist by suggesting the use of Crestor, as it works differently than the other statins to reduce cholesterol. I had to discontinue the other statins b/c I got bad left arm pain (muscle pain is a… common side effect). Since I started taking the Crestor, I haven't had any resulting arm or other muscle pain. Now, I hope my next blood test shows lower, bad cholesterol. 2. Correctly diagnosing an infected elbow bursa and getting the right Rx. Dr. Marino might not smile and joke around a lot, but her quality of care is no joke!

I have been seeing Dr. Marino for almost twenty years. I know that when I go into her office, I will come out knowing what ails me. She always gets me feeling better.

Following a serious car accident while pregnant, her office would not see me for 4 days. This office was impossible to get appointment for urgent issues (i.e., bronchitis took 2 weeks to get in) and therefore our family had to visit other urgent care centers to get basic sick care. I have only NOT recommended Dr. Marino and Johns Hopkins Community Physicians.

She is an excellent doctor. She doesnt prescribe medication just to cover the symptoms she actually takes the time and if necessary have medical blood test order to actually cure you. How often you get this from doctors these days. It is a little difficult to get appointments with her because she is always book. The woman is a good doctor a lot of people want to see her! Couldn't find better doctor.

Dr. Marino is one of the best physicians in this area. She is no-nonsense, respectful, serious, and quite skillful with diagnosis. I found Dr. M. many years ago when I was seen on an "emergency" basis when she was the doc on duty, but was not familiar with me. She quickly and accurately saw that I had been on the wrong medication (for years) and she reversed my treatment plan to the extent that I no longer need daily medicine. I was hers! The no-nonsense approach (she is not warm and fuzzy) is backed up by skill and talent; she listens diligently, but is not one to ooze all over you. She respects patient input. I would recommend her to anyone seeking a serious, skillful, knowledgeable and caring primary care physician.

Dr. Marino is impossible to see. It takes upwards of 2 weeks to get an appointment for treatment for sinus infections, let alone treatment for nonemergencies. The office staff is very rude. And we have had billing problems due to nonprocessing of insurance. I would highly NOT recommend this physician and practice. (Johns Hopkins Community Physicians.
