Dr. Christine Marie Ruggiero, MD

I was involved in an accident and was taken to Mather Hospital I had suffered severe facial trauma , I'm 45. I was extremely anxious and was told my stay in the hospital would most likely involve two surgeries. I was petrified. I knew of Dr. Ruggiero and felt most comfortable with her managing my anesthesia care for both procedures She was amazing. She sat with me while I was having a mental breakdown prior to bringing me back to the OR. She treated me with compassion and was empathetic towards my situation as my skilled plastic surgeon told me how he was going to make me whole again. For the first time in my life I didn't wake up retching or sick after anesthesia. My surgery involved reattachment of my nose via flaps and skin grafts, neither were jeopardized. I would highly recommend Dr.Ruggiero especially if have particular concerns or if you need a very special anesthetic technique.

Dr. Ruggiero was friendly, polite, explained everything she was doing to me, impeccable bed side manners, brilliant and most importantly, I trust her with my life. If you are looking for a top notch, IVY league educated, trustworthy and intelligent anesthesiologist, she is the one.

Dr Ruggiero came in to talk to me before a procedure that I was extremely nervous for and put all my nerves right at ease. A nurse had trouble finding a vein in my hand and Dr Ruggiero found it instantly and pain free. I told her that I’ve had bad reactions to anesthesia before, she understood and made it so that I woke up feeling perfectly fine and recovered so much faster than I ever had before after going under.

Dr Ruggiero was an absolute pleasure. She took time out to speak to me before the procedure and made me feel comfortable and confident before heading in. Doesn’t hurt that she’s easy on the eyes!

This doctor took more time with me than anyone else I ever dealt with. Absolute pleasure.

Dr. Ruggiero was the anesthesiologist for a procedure I had at Mather Hospital. First of all she was late, "breezed in with her cup of coffee after two other doctors on the anesthesiology team had already interviewed me and answered my questions, and helped me to feel more comfortable about the anesthesia. She gave her 1 minute speech, barely acknowledged me; but the worst part was that there were some medications administered during the procedure apparently on her orders from which I had a terrible reaction postoperatively; absolutely will not undergo a procedure under her care ever again!

Dr Ruggiero was extremely kind and gentle and took time to put me at ease and explained what was happening and made me feel I was truly on good hands.

This doctor was so very kind at a time that I was nervous. She was intelligent and thorough. I would highly recommend her to anyone who was going to have surgery. Even though you often cannot pick your anesthesiologist, personally, I would request her if I could for any other procedures I may have in the future. Excellent.
