Dr. Christine Burke Taylor, MD

I chose her as a physician because she was listed as one of the best doctors in SA. I am very disappointed in the care and treatment I received. She completely wasted my time. I went to her for help with recurring middle ear infections. Which had increased in occurrence in the past few years. I informed her that I had tried conservative treatment, which offered no improvement to my symptoms. The conservative treatment consisted of antihistamines, decongestants, popping my ears, and antibiotics. At the first appointment with her, she mentioned right off the bat that she was not convinced that I required ear tubes (grommets) because they were for kids and for hearing loss. Which is not true. Ear tubes are given for recurring ear infections and Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD) that does not respond to conservative treatment. She then said that she might consider ear tubes depending on the results of the tympanogram and hearing tests. She gave me a prescription (Ciprofloxacin) for ear… drops in the event I had another ear infection before my next appointment. The drops she gave me would not have worked, as the medication is only for outer ear infections, not middle ear infections unless the person has ear tubes. The drops cannot penetrate the ear canal in people without ear tubes, rendering them useless in people without tubes, such as myself. I followed up with her two months later, with no improvement in my symptoms. Again, she made up an excuse as to why I would not qualify for ear tubes; that she would consider it based on what the CT test results were. Since the hearing and tympanogram results were normal. Keep in mind she had my medical history showing how many times I went into a clinic or a PCP for ear infections over the past few years. One of those doctors noted that my ears had thick mucus in the ear canal in my medical history. I also provided her with paperwork from an urgent care visit a week before the appointment. Where I was diagnosed with ETD. She completely disregarded my history of middle ear infections (which she could see in MyChart) as well as the documents from the urgent care visit. She glanced at the paperwork and asked if I was prescribed antibiotics. I was not given antibiotics during the urgent care visit. Which she would have known the answer if she bothered to read the urgent care paperwork I provided her. She and her resident also implied that I was faking within earshot. She also told the resident within earshot: "You can't fake the tymps". Referring to the tympanogram. Well, guess what Dr. Taylor? You can't fake middle ear infections and ETD which doctors had documented in my chart either! You can't fake retracted eardrums either! During this same visit, she examined both ears and saw that both of my eardrums were retracted. She did not find it concerning because they went back to "normal" after she had me pop my ears. My eardrums retracted again a day later after I visited with her. And then to add insult to injury, she placed in my medical records that I had anxiety! I have never been diagnosed with anxiety, nor have I ever had a mental disorder. She deliberately placed a mental disorder in my medical records which is not true. How do I know? The diagnosis was not listed in my medical records until after my last and now final visit with her. She placed a mental disorder in my records despite clear evidence (my medical records, doctor visits, and retracted eardrums that she AND her resident saw for themselves) showing that I am suffering from actual ear infections and dysfunction of my eustachian tubes. She is not the best in San Antonio! Far from it!

After 3 years of serious Facial surgery I encountered Belles Palsey. After being referred by my Facial Therapist I was put at rest by going to Dr.. Taylor and talking about why it happened and how we can fix the paralysis. She was gentle, listened well, answered all questions. I feel lucky to have found her.
