Dr. Christine Jennifer Vidouria, DO

I write this review with much regret. I would much rather be writing a glowing account of service provided by a fine doctor but that will not be the case here. My time is valuable. My wife is ill. My wife is in pain. At this point she could care less about time being valuable or not. She just wants to see a doctor. I am sure those reading this you agree your time is valuable. Let me ask this question, is your time more or less valuable then a doctors? You probably would say yes it is. But how do we quantify that to make it so. But it is your time and if should be taken into account and respected. We arrived 15 minutes late at Dr. Christine Vidouria, Pain Management, San Antonio, TX. They provided my wife the normal forms to start filling out. Few minutes into that process they called my wife back to the window and informed her the appointment was being canceled due to late arrival. 15 minute late. Not 16, not 20, but 15 minutes late. Dr. Vidouria came highly… recommended by Dr. Jane (Barbosa) Ayala, MD, rheumatologist in San Antonio. We already had one appointment with Dr. Vidouria and this was a very important follow up. My wife suffers from debilitating pain from fibromyalgia or who really knows. At this appointment we really wanted to discuss the possibility this was Gout. But what ever if was the wife had just spent a horrible weekend suffering from it. Bedridden for most of the weekend and even strong prescription pain meds did not help. 15 minutes. We live on the east side of San Antonio. Dr. Vidouria’s practice is on the west side. Yes we should have left a few minutes earlier to account for construction and traffic and the vagaries of GPS directions. We mention to the lady at the front desk that canceling at this point was super inconvenient. I mean we are here. In the office. Not on the phone saying we going to be late. We standing here right in front of you. 15 minutes late. Think about this from a business aspect. The practice schedules a specific number of patients per day. So maybe Dr. Vidouria had 5 or 10 patients scheduled for after lunch. Some were already sitting in lobby. She was basically tells us that we are not important nor is our business important to her. 15 minutes your canceled, could care less about the pain my wife has been in all weekend and actually since the last time we saw her. She also must be doing so well she did not need the income our visit would have provided her practice. She could have told us to wait and she could have seen other patients in front of us. We would have sat in that lobby for hours if need be. I explained to the lady at the front desk that we are in the process of selling our home and moving back another state. She did not care to listen nor take our pleas back and tell the doctor our concerns. Just kept repeating the doctor said to cancel. We are moving to be near family to help with my wife’s illness. Why is that important to this review. We asked for this appointment date to fit in one last visit to Dr. Vidouria before leaving the area and having to find new doctors in the location we are moving to. As you probably know, making new doctor appointments can be six months out. At our first appointment with Dr. Vidouria we sat in her lobby at least 30 minutes maybe 45. So if Dr. Vidouria is so concerned with timeliness then why do we have wait so long in her lobby after checking in. I guess our time is not valuable. Did I lose my temper and throw the clip board down and storm out of the doctors practice. Yes I did. I feel bad for that but the lady at the front desk and probably Dr. Vidouria have no idea what all is going on in our lives. Wife has other issues contributing to her illness and the stress of selling a home and moving is mounting and taking a toll on her health. The lady at front desk knew this because I went back in to office after my temper tantrum and explained this to her in calmer terms being very specific about wife’s other condition. She should have asked me to wait a minute and then gone an relayed my concerns to the doctors for one last chance for the doctor to do the right thing. No she did not. Callous is the only description that I can apply to her response and actions. She now offered other appointments. Again my time is valuable. I write this review sitting in the airport starting a business trip. I explained to the young lady I was going out of town for the rest of the week. The wife was not up to driving to west side of town on her own. I explained it was now or never. I guess never was ok with her. One last note about doctors and time and caring. During our first visit with Dr. Vidouria my wife was suffering from a new ailment that had just manifested itself a couple days before the visit. Dr. Vidouria advised us to call our family practitioner or go to one of the 24 hour clinics to see what the issue was. I called our family Docter from Dr. Vidouria’s parking lot that day. He said come over now. He squeezed us in. His lobby was full. He has a big lobby. But he saw my wife that day with no appointment. Treatment for extremely painful breast infection was provided. That is caring. That was above the norm we know. Canceling an appointment for being 15 minutes late is not caring. We fired Dr. Vidouria.

I have been seeing Dr. Vidouria since she worked with Dr. Janes and that group. Dr. Janes was my doctor then and as soon as I met Dr. Vidouria something clicked. She has been my doctor and my friend ever since. She has my best interest at heart. I trust her explicitly.

Outstanding doctor that cares for her patients. She talks to you like she's known you for years. I went to her for several years and we changed insurance and she didn't take my insurance. I'm coming back to her in Jan. 2018, can't hardly wait to see her again.

Me and my son go to dr.V. she is a very good dr . I hope she stay in San Antonio for a very long time. Other then having 2 wait so long when u get there, that is the only thing wrong.

I'd give six stars if I could, I've moved around a lot because of my job, and I've seen a lot of Dr's and she beats them all hands down. With her its not about making numbers or pushing pills, but about the comfort of her patients.

Dr. Vidourria sent me for an MRI and was able to help me ease pain I've felt for approximately one and a half years. She listened to me, where I told her I hurt and was able to alleviate the pain very quickly after the MRI. Still have a few issues to work on but my pain relief is much more manageable.

She gives you all the time you need, will find what you need to be helped.

I've had 2 visits with Dr. Christine Vidouria and she is the worst Doctor I've been seen by in 30 years. She is rude, short and abraisive. I don't recommend her. I've changed Doctors.

First of all let me say that I believe that Dr. Vidouria, seems to be a compassionate person who genuinely wants to help you, However I have found my average wait time to see Dr. Vidouria is roughly 2 hours, sometimes more & sometimes less but on average it is a 2 hour wait before she gets to you. She seems to always be in a rush trying to keep up with everyone and her office staff repeatedly enter the exam room to talk to the doctor about other patients, I find it very uncomfortable having people other than the doctor constantly streaming in and out of the office during the visit and she has trouble focusing on me and my problems due to the fact that she is in a rush and she is constantly interrupted by other people. Also if there is an issue with medication or if you are having severe reactions to the medications it is near impossible to speak with anybody over the phone about the matter and messages left for the doctor or staff are rarely returned. Bottom line, she is a caring… person but she is not able to keep up with her patient load.

I love Dr. Vidouria. She is kind, patient, and understanding. I never feel rushed and she is thorough. She listens to the patient and is very much a patient advocate.
