This is why I have him as my doctor. The only Dr.I have liked as well, moved from Adams, NY. Fortenetly I found Dr. Black!

Not very thorough at all - doesn't care about my medical history.

Very friendly doctor. Was quick to refer me out to a specialist (which I am very grateful for). Ordered tests that had never been ordered for me before which I appreciated (just simple lab work--which ended up finding an infection). But you can tell he goes above and beyond. He doesn't just "guess?" He actually gets answers. I can appreciate that in a doctor. His nurse is also very friendly and kind.

As an army wife who has been shuffled from post to post and Dr to Dr I was happy when I arrived here and was placed with Dr Black. He takes the time to understand your situation or pain and treat you accordingly. He is in-tune with your needs and treats you like a person not a problem. he was such a good Dr after leaving the military I went back to him in his private practice. He is amazing and I recommend him to anyone, however his cohorts do not have his same outlook on medicine and if you need their treatment on a day he is out of the office you are defiantly screwed. I would never recommend the other provider in his office, if you can hold out waiting for Dr Black he is worth the wait believe me!

Dr Black is exactly what a good primary care physician should be - he has taken the time to know us and our medical histories, he sees us for regular checkups, he keeps on us to take care of ourselves, he treats the normal stuff of daily life - colds, coughs, aches and pains and such - very competently. He is easy to talk to and takes the time to fully understand what's going on with us and answers our questions and discusses with us how best to treat a problem. He has no hesitation in referring us to specialists when that is indicated. This is a doctor who knows he is not God, just a really good doctor. The office staff is great - caring, friendly,and competent. They handle our referrals - wherever we go, everything is all set up for us when we get there.

If you want a "matter of fact" delivery of care, he's a great doc....if you want to be coddled, look somewhere else. He knows his medicine and where he should hand things off, but don't expect him to be all gooey with you. He took prompt action to save the vision in my right eye, and I'll be forever grateful for that.

Enter to the ER the worlds worst visit in my life. I was in agony - two weeks of pain. Dr. Black identified that and was going to write me a script that ultimately was helpful. The only issue? He had to get me so upset and so unscrewed that we left to get other labs ordered by our GP because this man was so full of himself.Dr. Black became a sadistic drill instructor almost from the get-go with the bedside manner of a butcher. Never once did he sympathize, instead he ordered me to, "CALM DOWN. RELAX. You make this worse. RELAX." I began to panic around him - since every time I'd say I was in pain he'd snap that it was my fault for being upset - and I became verbally hostile and guarded in return, there's no doubt. He remained calmly patronizing, and would smirked every time he said something smug about himself or about how I wasn't "helping myself by not relaxing". He 'ordered' me to relax, again, which made me more tense. Then he mocked me, by saying, "Are you afraid to die? Is that… what upsets you?" But he said it so maliciously, in such a low and evil undertone that I was SCARED of him. I thought then that, ironically, death would have been more pleasant than dealing with this doctor.At one point he asked why I seemed so upset around him and I said that HE was the reason I was getting more upset because he seemed so condescending and arrogant. Then he felt inspired to pulled up a chair and had to 'correct' me as to why HE was incapable of being patronizing or condescending. It was, ironically, the most patronizing moment of the whole day as he exalted his detective work that I was (obviously) in pain and needed medication. My mother had to get him to leave and he left in a huff, stating, "Go to [your GP]; maybe he'll have better luck with you."A vet WOULD be a safer choice and probably a kinder one!!!!This man is literally the epitome of the worst medical doctor I have ever experienced in my entire life.You've been warned.

Very positive experience.
