Dr. Christopher M. Brusalis is a fellowship-trained, board-certified Sports Medicine Surgeon who specializes in complex and minimally invasive surgical interventions for the shoulder. Munns Prize as the most outstanding student entering Orthopedic Surgery. There, he was also among a select group chosen by his peers for membership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Brusalis completed his orthopedic surgical residency at the nation's #1 orthopedic residency program, Hospital for Special Surgery, where he was recognized with the New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center Alumni Council Distinguished Housestaff Award as the graduating orthopedic surgery resident demonstrating all-around clinical excellence. Dr. Brusalis completed advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the prestigious Rush University, where he served as Assistant Team Physician for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. Prior to beginning his practice, Dr. Brusalis completed a North America Traveling Fellowship to receive personal mentorship from world-renowned shoulder surgeons, including Dr. Joaquin Sanchez-Sotelo (Mayo Clinic), Dr. George Athwal (Ontario, Canada), Drs. Robert Tashjian and Peter Chalmers (University of Utah), Dr. Surena Namdari (Rothman Institute), and Dr. Jonathan Levy (Tampa, Florida). Finally, he studied internationally under the preeminent shoulder surgeon Professor Pascal Boileau in Nice, France. Through this unique training, Dr. Brusalis offers innovative, minimally invasive surgical techniques to patients at HSS. Dr. Brusalis actively engages in research in cadaveric studies, biomechanics, computational modeling, and clinical registries to discover new ways to improve musculoskeletal healthcare. Dr. Brusalis has authored numerous peerreviewed research articles published in the nation's leading medical journals, including The American Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, and Arthroscopy.
