I am committed to providing the highest quality care in a professional and relaxing atmosphere. I enjoy interacting with patients and using my knowledge from both engineering and dentistry to improve their self-esteem and lives through their smiles. I pride myself in taking the time to explain your diagnosis and make sure you are fully informed with all aspects of your treatment.
Education
I find it very rewarding to be able to help patients of all ages achieve and maintain functional, beautiful smiles. To do this, I've made sure that I have the education and training patients can feel confident in. I received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the School of Dental Medicine at Southern Illinois University. I graduated at the top of my dental class and was distinguished by the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society, the highest honor society among dentists. I completed my additional …two-year residency and received my Master of Science in Orthodontics from the University of Iowa Dental School in Iowa City.
The field of orthodontics is constantly changing, and I continue my education through courses, seminars, and involvement in the greater dental and orthodontic communities. I strive to make sure my patients know that they are receiving the best, most up-to-date treatment technology available.
Professional Memberships
I am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and serve on several local and state committees. I have also taken the extra steps to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Outside the Office
I am a native of Ironwood, Michigan, and moved back to the area after my schooling to take advantage of the numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation, like biking and skiing. I love to travel and am also an aviation enthusiast, flying a small plane for pleasure. I currently reside in Duluth with my wife, Amy, our two young children, Lauren and Erik, and our dog, Lucie.
