Dr. Christopher Burr Dechet, MD

After my urologist planned an open partial nephrectomy, I saw Dr Dechet for a second opinion. While somewhat complex my case was well within his comfort zone and once my risk profile came down Dr Dechet performed the partial nephrectomy. Everything went as well as it possibly could have, my pain was minimal and easily managed. A year later all is well. As the title says, I couldn't be happier with Dr Dechet and his team

This guy put ureter stents in my wife. They were to big. he was stubborn and wouldn't take them out. My wife's last year of life was painful due to the stents being to big. They pushed into her bladder and caused a fistula. This guys lack of empathy was very hurtful while my wife and family were going through enough.

When Dr. Dechet did my surgery, he was apparently clueless about penile rehabilitation after surgery. All he said was "Use it or Loose it". It was devastating to try to use something that was useless, all the time knowing that meant I was loosing it. My surgery was several years ago. I hope to God that by now he has caught up on the state of penile rehabilitation therapy. After he touted his extremely high percentage of patients who emerge without ED, he certainly did not come through for me.

I was impressed and pleased by the professional atmosphere at the Huntsman Clinic and the caring treatment of all who assisted me. Dr. Dechet was great. He explained my situation in great detail, making sure I understood everything. I was able to get answers to my questions. A course of action was outlined, beginning with further testing and I was able to participate in the decisions. The best moment was near the end of the consultation with Dr. Dechet when he said, "We will take very good care of you and make sure you get the best treatments available." I felt reassured I was in good hands.

I found Dr. Dechet to be the consumate professional. He kept me informed about everything that was going on. His Urology team visited me each morning and reported results of pathology along with their recommendations. They are all excellent! Dr, Dechet has a wonderful presence of confidence and calm. Each successive situation was explained thoroughly. Whenever Dr. Dechet was on the floor everything was better. His calm confidence is well founded. I honestly believe that he is a world class surgeon.

Dr. Dechet and Huntsman are a great match. He is a fine surgeon with great "people skills" that go perfectly with the nurturing, supportive environment at Huntsman.

Four days out from robotic prostatectomy. Dr. Dechet and his clinic staff and the staff on the recovery floor were simply outstanding. Dr. Dechet and his staff answered every pre-surgery question I asked in a straight forward manner. There was no rush to get to the next patient. Dr. Dechet reviewed all of the pre-operative test results and discussed treatment options at length. I don't remember the surgery, but the post surgery recovery has been remarkably quick. The recovery room staff and floor staff were outstanding as well. Having never spent a night in the hospital, I have nothing to compare this experience against, but it seems to have been as good as could have been. I had minimal post surgical pain. At three days I stopped the once a day at bedtime oral pain meds. I will return to the office less than a week post surgery.

Best experience I've ever had with surgery and recovery.

Dr. Dechet performed a prostectomy on me in August. He and his staff are exceptional from start to finish. He did and excellent job and I would highly recommend him for any type of urological need especially prostate cancer.
