Dr. Christopher Eugene Gibb, MD

This is one of the rudest and inconsiderate doctors I have ever met. Full of himself and rude. Won't answer your questions and thinks that he is better than you.......

Everything went smooth

I had a wonderful experience at the Birth Day Place in Paradise...except for the fact that I had Dr. Gibb as my anesthesiologist, and he was HORRIBLE. He came into the room, acting rushed from the start. He put an epidural in my back and almost immediately my blood pressure dropped to 66 over 33 and my heart rate spiked to 135. The nurse got nervous and turned the monitor away from me, asking Dr. Gibb what the problem was. He didn't know but worked for 10 to 20 minutes to get me stabilized. I was still shaking in seizure-like fashion when he left the room but my vitals were slowly coming back to normal. An hour later, I had no numbing (as the epidural is supposed to do) and I was still suffering from shakes, abnormal vitals and discomfort. The nurse repeatedly paged Dr. Gibb to get him back into the room, as it was my desire to remove the epidural and just deal with a natural birth. Two hours later, he stormed into the room, yelled at the nurse right in front of me and my family,… letting her know that she was out of line to "keep pestering him," and he proceeded to say that something must be wrong with the medicine in the drip line. He took some medicine into a syringe and shot it straight into my epidural line....once again, my heart rate soared and my vitals went crazy. At this point, even he acted shocked and then conceded that the epidural must be directly in a blood vessel, sending the medicine straight to my heart. He was very cocky in his attitude, making sure we all heard him as he repeated that he's "never had this happen before" and he gave off an attitude as if something was wrong with me to have caused this problem. Instead of acting apologetic, he remained snarly toward the nurse and annoyed at me & my family. I was very relieved when he took the epidural out, left the room and I didn't have to have his bad attitude tainting my birthing room and birthing experience anymore! When I have baby #2, if he is the anesthesiologist on duty I will refuse his services and let Mother Nature help me through. Christopher Gibb is absolutely horrible. I hope he reads this review and takes it as feedback to help him improve his attitude, although he will probably just continue to blame others for his mistakes and ego...
