Dr. Christopher John Hanssen, MD

The Man was really good. Straight to the point. Both knees mcl's, now need ACL. I cannot find him and AI says he passed in 8/2024. If Im wrong or know how please let me know.

I am heartbroken over the news of Dr Hanssen's passing. He was our Dr. For years and never let us down. He made sure we got immediate care when needed and excellent care always. I just recently heard of his tragic passing and cried for his family and all his patients. I've moved away from Texas but he will always be remembered by my family. My heart goes out to his family. A wonderful man and doctor taken much too soon.

Dr. Hanssen passed away on Labor Day 2024, so I am amazed that someone would enter a one-star review of a dead man... no wonder he gave him one star only..he was deceased. Perhaps someone should update this page, let our dear doctor rest in peace, and provide us patients with information on how to obtain our medical records.

I had an extremely disappointing and painful experience under Dr. Hansen’s care. I initially visited him for a broken arm, and I trusted that I would receive thorough, attentive treatment. Within just a few days of leaving his because he said my arm was healed, my arm re-broke—something I never expected would happen if it had been set properly the first time. The pain was excruciating, and I had to undergo a more invasive surgery to correct the damage. Now, I’m left with a rod, pins, and plates in my arm, and I’m dealing with a much longer and more difficult recovery than I originally anticipated. The lack of clear communication, apparent oversight in my initial treatment, and the added stress of needing a second, more extensive surgery have completely shattered my confidence in Dr. Hansen’s expertise. I wish I had received more attentive care from the start. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Hansen to anyone in need of orthopedic care, as I wouldn’t want anyone else to go… through what I have.

He is a very caring doctor. He put your needs first. He sit down and talk with you and he will explain everything to you.,you can ask him questions. He will answer them. He is a great doctor to me. I will trust him with any more surgery doctors if I ever need one again….Thank You Terry

On my first and only visit so far, I was waiting in an exam room for Dr. Hanssen. About 30 seconds after I sat down across the room from the door Dr. Hanssen entered the room, pulled the roll around stool to within a couple of feet in front of me. Looked at me and said, "Tell me about your foot." I knew at that point I wasn't competing with a computer for his attention and he cared! In spite of the fact he is a surgeon and could have poked me with needles or suggested surgery, he explained my problem and suggested some simply exercises that worked. I am one happy patient.

He has rebuilt my wife. Fixed the broken wrist, replaced her knee and has cared her for the last 5 months after broken fibula repair. Really cares and it shows every time we see him. His nurses are every bit as caring as he is. He may be the best kept secret in the ortho world.

I've been using Dr.Hansen for over 10yrs now and this man is not only a great Dr, but funny, kind, caring and he listens :) He has taken care of my kids and myself on many occasions. I would recommend Dr.Hansen to anyone needing an Orthopedic Doctor.

He called me a wuss after rotator surgery. I was digressing which was fine with him. He never recommended a pain management so I thought perhaps I am a wuss. However 5 other people including myself have had to seek treatment for correcting awful mistake. He cut out a much needed ligament instead of tying it back together. My mother and I were called wusses and written off. Both of our next doctors said we had extreme physical pain and then sent to pain management before physical therapy and therefore were able to excel in physical therapy

Helped me get out of pain quickly and cured my knee. Surgery was great and I was back on my feet quickly
