If you are endlessly researching surgeons trying to select the right one for you, go no further! Dr. Hess performed abdominal surgery on me and his work is impeccable. And, beyond that, I am a bit of a hypochondriac and was highly anxious about every little thing during my recovery. Dr. Hess was incredibly comforting, answered my calls no matter the time of day, and could not have been more reassuring. I have never had surgery before and was so concerned about picking the right doctor. I did SO much research and met with multiple doctors. I could not be happier with my selection of Dr. Hess. I highly, highly recommend him. And the icing on the cake is that everyone on his team is incredibly responsive and kind.

Dr Hess performed my breast augmentation and lift. He was significantly late for my surgery, even though I was his first scheduled surgery of the day. His medical error during surgery caused a thrombosis to my lung, he cut too deeply making the pocket for my implant. This mistake resulted in my hospitalization and expensive medical tests, causing fear, substantial pain, and finally, huge out of pocket expenses. My implant then ruptured just a few years later, this happens in less than 1% of breast implant patients. Unfortunately, Dr Hess, had to perform my repair and replacement surgery, other surgeons do not want to touch another doctors mistakes. He gave me blatantly false information about my initial implant warranty, which caused substantial out of pocket expenses once more. When I returned for my follow/up appointment with my questions and concerns, Dr Hess could not possibly have been more rude or condescending. He became angry and belligerent as he said, “bring it… on, Lady!”, then accused me of being a mindless patient who hadn’t researched the implants he placed in my body, a shocking accusation by a surgeon, as they were the implants he used and recommended, and an untrue accusation. I work in the medical field and I have never witnessed a doctor speak to a patient in such a derogatory manner. His negligence and over the top arrogance is sickening and deplorable. When Dr Hess is called on and questioned about his shortcomings and medical mistakes he berates and belittles a patient. I would not recommend this surgeon!! There are too many talented, competent and compassionate plastic surgeons to ever use this negligent doctor.

I was told I was a fantastic candidate for a breast augmentation...that my expectations were realistic and although I had minor assymetry, he could correct it and it would be easy peasy...initially I was excited and felt like he was a great choice...responded to my worried via email and was confident I would have a great result... The day of surgery red flags flew up and I should have run....he was "grabby" with my breasts...at times disrespectful...and hurried...but I went through with it...post op I healed quickly, but my scars were haphazardly repaired...and one scar is way below the breast...well my left breast was clearly way higher than the right...I called with my concern, and was brushed off...told that he's not sure why but the left is always higher, be patient and it will drop... Months went by and it still didn't drop...I went back in, and he was very defensive and again very grabby...telling me I was very asymmetrical before and that it wasn't bad enough to worry about… now...well it is bad...if I wear a cami top one breast sticks way out the top and my other doesn't! My nipples are at completely different levels...he tried to down play it but I wouldn't budge...his wife was in every appointment and is always in complete agreement with him...so it feels like you're always being ganged up on... His scheduler had given me incorrect information about the warranty for the implants...and due to her error I wasn't eligible to get an extended warranty....he didn't care about that...he said he wasn't sure how to fix my uneven breasts, but he would try to open the pocket more and see what that would do,... That procedure was done under local anesthesia, which he said would be far cheaper...yet I was billed for general...he didn't care about that and told me "oops..guess I was wrong..." Never got a refund for that mistake... Post surgery, still no change...went back several months later and he still didn't know why the breast didn't dropped and blamed it on my anatomy again...he encouraged me to go to other physicians and find out how they'd fix it and then tell him, and he could try to repair it... I went to 4surgeons...3/4 of them Dr Hess agreed were good surgeons....they all agree I have capsular contracture (Bakers grade 4 on the left, 1 on the right) and the repair will cost around $10,000...I told Dr Hess what I found out and he refused to believe it...he refused to correct it...and will not reply to my emails...he did offer to lower the fold of that breast, but all 4 other surgeons told me that's the worst possible solution... It took me over a month to get my medical records from his office... I wish I could think of something positive to say, but it has been truly a terrible experience...I was nice to him...took all of his advice...tried to be patient and understanding....but my results are really bad... Ohh....and all of this happened within a year....he offers a 1 year warranty on his work....yet I have received no money back and he won't do the proper procedure to repair it...some warranty, huh? Anyway...my best advice is avoid this practice at all costs....

Disrespectful, awkward, dismissive, and not well informed. Possibly a bigot, showed warning signs of discrimination.

I had a tummy tuck & breast reduction done by Dr. Hess. I am so happy with my results. I have to say he is just wonderful, & he is very talented. My scars are almost gone on my tummy & around my breast u can hardly tell that I have had surgery. I will say having this procedure done was very painful, but I am very glad with the results. It took me about 7 months to recovery. But I Love, love my results!! I would definitely return to him for all of my plastic surgery & I would recommend him to my friends & family.

Went to see Dr. Hess for a Abdominoplasty/Tummy Tuck consultation last week. His staff was very friendly and accommodating. After completing the required paper I was met back up with his receptionist and asked to change. Dr. Hess came into the room and spent about 5-7 minutes with me total. Asked nothing of my medical history. Looked at my stomach and said there was nothing he could do cause I didn't have "enough skin" to do a full tummy tuck, but yet proceeded to grab my mommy pouch and said "this is all fat ...have u EVER worked out"? Then, He said "at least now you know it's not possible to have this done and I have saved you the trouble of running around to other surgeons" and walked out of the room. Thankfully, he was NOT the first plastic surgeon I had gone to. At 5'9 and 130 lbs. I'm not sure how i could be "fat" but yet not have enough skin for this procedure. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE!
