Dr. Christopher James Hummel, MD

Dr. Hummel is an incredibly smart and observant psychiatrist. He has a great personality, listens well, asks good questions, and then offers options for treatment. If you have researched or used other psychiatrists, you know just how unique that is. He has my absolute respect, admiration and I could not recommend him more highly. The biggest downsides of his practice are: 1). His staff. Most, if not all, are part time and not overly knowledgeable about insurance related issues. They also do not all get along collaborate well to respond to calls. 2). Because he truly cares about his patients, he does not kick patients out of his office when their time is up. Depending on the day, this can create up to 45 minute delays in appointment times. Average wait times however are usually around 15-25 minutes and we’ll worth it. 3). He does not accept HMO’s or new Medicare patients.

No one ever answers the phone or returns phone calls. Horrible service

Nice guy. Smart. Patient. Easy to talk to. Helped my family a lot.

As other people have commented, there is typically a short wait time to see the doctor. But, I consider that to be fairly normal at a doctor’s office.

Good psychiatrist- seems to rely more on observable patient behavior than interviewing.

Decent Dr, terrible office to deal with. I am not sure why they have a phone there..........They do not answer it. Ive gone 3-4wks, calling 4-5 times a wk without an answer

I would still like to see this Dr, but his 10-15 min appointments are plus anywhere from wait, from 25-55 min, so you really do not know how long you will be out. Calling and trying to get the wait is useless, they do no pick up their phone.
