Always a pleasure to visit Dr Lena , I am a work comp patient and he is always kind and pleasant . Wonderful Dr. and human being . I am a medical professional and I think his medical advise is always on par .

His team from beginning to end were very efficient and professional. Had me back running in three months Thanks Dr Lena

Had my ACL reconstructed and 5 months later still dealing with swelling and stiffness. The pain I’m feeling has been there since the surgery and now I’m getting another MRI. Feels like they messed me up and I still have trouble walking. Even after getting my knee drained I’m dealing with this!! Not sure what happened but I’m sure they missed something or messed me up.

As a Police Officer my body had been subjected to multiple injuries over the years. I'd been to Springfield and Boston for some injuries without relief but Dr. Lena came recommended after UMASS General stopped taking my Insurance and I'm glad for it! I have a torn labrum in my hip but the pain was actually due to a fall which caused bursitis to flare near my ischial tuberosity. UMASS did a ninety second exam and scheduled surgery for an issue which was not causing pain because their Doc couldn't be bothered to listen. Dr. Lena is very patient and took the time to listen and examined me properly. I do the exercise routine that he recommended to strengthen surrounding muscles and now I am pain free. I'm so grateful to him for not operating on me unnecessarily. His staff was very kind as well. My health insurance is terrible and they took the time to make sure claims were processed properly.

He's a very condescending person that puts blame on anyone but himself. I had hip surgery with him fixing a torn labrum in my hip, after this surgery I did physical therapy for a few months and my hip persisted to bother me. The physical therapist I was working with said they thought my hip was still injured by the way I was reacting to certain movements. I spoke to Dr. lena about this and he didn't put a second thought into my hip being a possible issue and said it was my back. He didn't listen to my concerns and as a Dr he didn't look into me possibly being injured still from this.since that last visit with him I haven't been contacted by his office by any means and I'm still living with this hip issue, So a very negative experience with him. I thought medical doctors tools oath's to be honest and sincere with patient's not to get them out of there sight so they don't have to deal with a mistake or follow proper procedures to ensure a patients well being.

Scheduled my first surgery, took time off from work only to find out they "forgot to put it in the computer" ?? Then they didn't obtain my medical records. When I called upset I waited on hold 40 minutes to be told someone called out so they didn't have enough staff (this happened several times - very unprofessional). I had such a nightmare trying to get my second surgery scheduled & paperwork done I switched surgeons. I've never been more happy about any decision on my life. It's like night & day & my paperwork actually gets done now! I no longer have to drive 45 minutes to no one in the office despite confirming multiple times. So glad this nightmare is over & NEVER going back!

It isn't often that a surgeon has the perfect combination of exceptional skill, terrific bedside manner, ability to educate you without pontificating, unearths every stone (if necessary to help you), and, as an amazing bonus, has a fabulous sense of humor, too!!! Dr. Lena does all of this without an ounce of arrogance. He listens to your needs, gives you options and lets you be part of the decision making as he knows that how he goes about fixing you has to work for your life. He is truly one in a million!

Dr. Lena did my shoulder surgery in 2002 I have nothing but good things to say about him and his entire staff.
