About Dr. Maulik
Dr. Maulik absolutely loves orthodontics and the art of creating beautiful smiles! When he had braces in his teens he saw what a positive impact orthodontic treatment could have on patients and thus decided he wanted to pursue a career in this field. He went to University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, one of the top dental schools in the country, where he received his doctor of dental medicine. He was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society that accepts only those that are in the top 5% of the class and have demonstrated exemplary traits of character.
After Dental School he completed his three year orthodontic residency at the University of Connecticut. Next Dr. Maulik worked in a private orthodontic practice in Connecticut. After private practice experience in Connecticut Dr. Maulik moved to San Diego because he loves the ocean and it was a lifelong dream to move here.
Dr. Maulik believes strongly in education and staying …current on new topics in orthodontics. When he is not perfecting smiles at his office, he is at continuing education meetings and was recently published on his work in smile esthetics in the American Journal of Orthodontics, the most influential journal in the profession. In addition, he serves as a reviewing editor for the American Journal of Orthodontics, deciding what is worthy of publication in the field of esthetics. He is among only 12 orthodontists in the world with this honor. Dr. Maulik, a board certified orthodontist, believes it is
important to treat all patients as he would treat his own family and thus delivers a high level of patient care with a particular emphasis on excellent customer service and satisfaction. In his free time, Dr. Maulik  is passionate about surfing, music and most importantly spending time with his wife and daughter.
