Dr. Chris P Mcmanus, MD

Dr. McManus was my primary care physician for several years (>20 years), and over time I began to wonder if he is truly a licensed physician. Detailed explanations of diagnosis and details of illnesses began to make no sense what so ever. It was like he was talking to the wall behind me, and not to me. Whenever I had a problem I ended up go to Patient First for treatment. During the Pandemic I paid the doctor $2,500 (concierge medical practice payments), and received nothing for it, because he would not schedule office visits. During the same time I had two dental cleanings. two podiatrist visits, and two urologist visits (4-6 / 2021). Also, Patient First was never able to locate Dr. McManus in their system in order to transfer patient information to his office; however they were able to identify my medication history from CVS Caremark. I also was informed by my Urologist that the pain medication that was prescribed by Dr. McManus (that I had taken for 2 yrs) was destroying my kidneys.

It is immediately obvious that Dr C. McManus cares about his patients. He is a renowned physician with a talent for listening and involving patients in their plan of care. If you have to see the doctor this is as good as it gets.

Dr. McManus is a throwback to a better era in Medicine. No frills, no assembly line medicine, just a compassionate bedside manner that brings to mind Rockwell painting. Moreover Dr. McManus is an uncommonly congenial person, who will make any patient feel as if he is the center of the universe. There is no one better.

Exceptional Doctor. Takes time to explain things...answers all your questions. I've been going to Dr. C for over 10 years, he's tops because he always has time for you!!! Even makes hospital visits!

Dr Chris is the type of doctor that tries to diagnose and treat the issue rather than over medicating you like some of the doctors I've seen in the past. Yes the wait time is extreme and Thursday is physical exam day but if you need a same day appointment you have to call early in the day and they might be able to squeeze you in. Unlike the big practice I came from, the staff has never mixed up my records with another patient, the doctor has never called me for another patients problem, and the office staff will try to fix issues with the lab companies if you work with them. The only thing you may need is patience and a little flexibility. I've been kept waiting as long as 2 hours by my neurologist's office so I think this is just the way DC doctors are.
