Dr. Christopher P. Meyer, MD

Had both hips replaced (2 years apart). Dr Meyer was excellent. Gave me full attention during office visits & examination. He answered all my questions in ways I could understand. I did not feel rushed, he allowed as much time as it took for me to feel comfortable. The surgery went great, for both hips. For the 2nd one, I didn't even use pain pills, just Tylenol. And bonus, he straightened out my feet (they used to point to side at about 45 degree angle). I can not say enough good things about Dr Meyer & the surgery. I chose him based on: Neighbor who had worked with him recommended him, AND the head of TCO chose Dr Meyer to replace his hips. When the head of your medical organization chooses you to work on him, that looks really good on a resume. What to expect: Surgery early morning, that same afternoon you are told to get up and walk with a walker, and its fine, no pain, you just want to keep joint limber. The new joint is in tight, you wont damage it. Basically you… may use a walker or crutch for first week or so then just need a cane. On 2nd hip, I just used my cane (not crutch). After 6 weeks, all healed, no cane. There is a little discomfort toward end of first week as the bone heals and doesn't like to be disturbed, but Aleve or Tylenol works for that. Just keep at the rehab exercises (leg sweep, leg lift, knee bends, etc), they really help. If your hips are hurting, do not hesitate - get new hips and in 6 weeks you will be out running & playing with no pain. Thank you Dr Meyer!

During my visit with Dr Meyer, I found him to be extremely professional, made me feel very valued and handled my situation with much care. Completely satisfied with not only his service but with his staff. Looking forward to having my knee surgery with Dr. Meyer.

I tore all 4 of the ligaments in my right shoulder in 1968 while in the USAF. They did a rebuild at that time that was OK with lengthy recovery. In 2015 i tore 3 of the 4 again. The VA didnt have time to do the surgery and it was subbed out to Dr. Meyer at TCO in Waconia. AWESOME job that even got rid of some minor clicks and clacks from the previous surgery. This year i found i needed hip replacements and even though i did not have insurance in his network I had him do the surgery rather than go to VA or a Medicare Humana network surgeon. Since the hospital and rehab are in network i would rather spend a couple thousand and get the best than take chances. It has been just short of 2 weeks and doing great. Thanks again Doc and soon ready for the other hip I hope.

I tore both of my ACLs when i was in my 20s and never had them repaired. When I finally decided to bite the bullet and get them both done, Dr. Meyer made me realize it wasn't going to be so bad after all. I had an allograft done on both-- three months apart-- and I am thrilled with the results. Twin Cities and Dr. Meyer made all the difference. Can't thank them enough for giving me my knees back.

Sometimes I forget that my has even been replaced.
