Dr. Christopher John Pastore, MD

For being a cardiologist this man is heartless. Told my husband he knew what was wrong with him without even looking at his chart and to “circle back” in a couple months if he even had that long. Terrible bedside manner and complete lack of treatment.

Imagine how delighted I was that I was recommended to "Tampa's Top Cardiologist" but that soon to prove very false! I went to my primary to get clearance for a knee procedure. During my visit an EKG was performed and showed I had a heart attack. My primary recommended this quack. The visit was pleasant and with another EKG in his office, confirmed a heart attack. He sent me for a nuclear (as I have a knee injury) and an Echo. The results arrived in his office on Monday - I called FOUR times that week and was told he had not READ the results (remember, I had a heart attack is all I know)- finally the FOLLOWING week, a very uninformed Medical Assistant called and said, "You are cleared for the knee procedure" What about my heart, the heart attack, the results of the test. Do I need a procedure on my heart? She had NO answers and told me to learn the results, I would have to make an appointment with the doctor and confirm there would be another co-pay! I was furious. Went to a… REAL doctor who said: "Your results are inconclusive. We will not know what is real without taking a look with a little camera. If there is nothing, I will clear you for knee, if there is something, I will take care of it then" I was scheduled for the next week, and I KNOW I am in good hands. Many cardiologists in the Bay Area. Stay clear of this Dr. Pastore, his lack of passion. I STILL have not heard from him since his last words over a month ago "You've had a heart attack"

I was informed today that this office no longer accepts my insurance and I’m being dropped as a patient. While I understand this, I am really disgusted that after almost 10 years as a patient they couldn’t even refer me to another doctor. Just a sorry and a goodbye. I sure won’t be recommending them to anyone if that’s how they treat their patients.

While attempting to get a simple paper signed for a spinal procedure, this doctor was not only unable to sign paper, nor was he unable see see the patient. First available appointment was in three weeks. Great team work doctor. if you are thinking about seeing this doctor just don’t. My suggestion is to find a practice with more than one doctor or one who works more than two days a week.

He talks over you and does not let you finish your sentence. Also made me feel I was wasting his time because, after two involved tests, I just had very high Blood Pressure and not a serious heart condition

Be warned of Dr. Pastore. He orders testing procedures performed in his office (and out-patient) that are not always needed. I have some very minor issues, and he recommended heart catheterization!! He wouldn't answer questions when asked and just kept saying the same evasive things it was like he was on the clock and ready to get to his next patient. He tries to push and scare you into agreeing to unneeded tests at even greater expense (to his benefit, of course) without any answers other than "it's the next step". I walked out completely disillusioned and amazed by this doctor's ego. I immediately got an appointment to see another well known and respected cardiologist for a 2nd opinion. Thank goodness after reading all the results from the numerous tests I already had done, he told me that no invasive testing or heart catheterization (that he insisted I needed) was actually needed for such minor issue and that I should go to see a gastroenterologist. I now found through some gastro… tests that stomach issues were the cause of my discomfort, something Dr. Pastore never even suggested! I have now heard from 2 different medical professionals that he is known for his eagerness to perform catherizations.

I would not recommend him. went to this Doctor because of chest pains & Abnormal EKG from another cardiologist. Went for stress test. He recommends angioplasty because of several factors. I agree, and he does it through the arm. rare in Tampa. I was told that my chest pains and abnormal ekg must be normal for me after angioplasty revealed clear arteries. did not see him after angioplasty, or even get a call. I was given too much meds. to relax me before the procedure. I didn't know what was going on. 4 days later we call his office and find I are speaking to uninformed office girls that say I am o.k. Prior to angioplasty he is almost berating me saying " you must have known you had heart disease because of your family history." In my own diagnosis, I think I have Metabolic Syndrome? He never said anything to me after procedure.
