Dr. Peltier is a fantastic doctor. Very good with my kids and always gives us a few options for treatment when acceptable.

Yes, I am one of those crazy moms that is interested in selective and delayed vaccination. Yes, I know that there are pediatricians that will not see my child because I have these beliefs. That is why, upon calling the Eastgate office of Pediatric Associates of Mt. Carmel to make my first appointment for my three-month old daughter, that I asked if there is room for discussion regarding vaccinations. The receptionist assured me that the doctors are flexible and I even asked if I should see one over another due to this issue, to which she replied that I did not need to worry about any of them. Imagine my surprise when I visited today and at the end of the visit i was presented with a form letter by Dr. Christopher B. Peltier outlining the practice's strict rules regarding vaccinations. it states, "Non compliance with this agreement will result in dismissal from the practice." Flexible? I think not. So why did the receptionist mislead me and why, when she said she would put in my patient… notes that I wanted delayed and selective vaccinations, did they wait until the end of the visit to present me with this letter? I could have saved my time and money today if I had known the practices' policies up front - not to mention I could have avoided the lecture I got from Dr. Peltier. To his credit, he did refer me to another pediatric group (where they have had to send numerous patients, apparently). I should count my blessings that I have now found a group that is at least open to discussing my concerns, but I am frustrated that I am out my $35 copay. I think I will call them tomorrow and demand it be refunded.
