Dr. Christopher Owen Ruud, MD

Doctor Ruud was the best specialist I have ever had. His knowledge, patience, and caring attitude is exceptional. He stayed on top of my medications and was in contact with my other doctors to make sure everything was working together. He explained everything to both me and my family and always seemed interested in what all was going on outside of chemo. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needed an Oncologist.

Dr. Ruud is an excellent physician in every aspect. He's knowledgeable - with broad experience in both oncology and internal medicine, yet he's humble and gentle when interacting with his patients.When I read the horror stories of metastasis/death of some of my on-line breast cancer support group members - some were diagnosed with the same type of BC around the time of my initial diagnosis and with smaller tumors sizes (slightly more than half of the size of mine), I can't help but feel thankful that Dr. Ruud had chosen the right course of chemotherapy for me in 2003. He is completely focused on giving his patients the best care possible. I count myself as being fortunate to have Dr. Ruud as my medical oncologist.

No complaints about his bed-side manner. He is human, after all; all doctors are. He listens. I'm glad to have him as my doctor. He really does care, in my opinion.

He came in and started telling me that I might need additional surgery. I was shocked because no evidence of cancer had been found after my mastectomy. When I said this, he went outside for a few minutes (obviously to FINALLY read my records) and came back in with a totally different plan. He had no idea who I was, what I had been through, and what needed to be checked on in the future.

Dr. Ruud has the worse bed side manner ever that I have seen when it comes to talking to the patient's families. Very rude and I believe he loves to give patients false hope and does not like to tell them the truth. I would never refer this doctor to anyone. THinks he knows it all and knows nothing. As he tells you he's been doing this for thirty years, he's also not telling his patients the truth and does not like to answer direct questions...
