Dr. Christopher Andrew Severson, MD

I was seeking a second opinion on my Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis, When I went to BWH MS Center, I went with my Mother in Law and first, i was taken in by a Fellow who was learning under Dr. Severson, and when Dr. Severson came in it was all of 5-minutes and he seemed so arrogant and confused to why I was even there. He ordered a briage of tests and basically made me go through a whole bunch of testing to rule out everything. the 2nd time I met him he told me that my symptoms didn't fit the criteria of MS and he didn't think I had MS...and then when I called to complain of new symptoms he said that I needed a psych evaluation because my "depression" could be causing my symptoms. Like what? And forget about a call back on anything! He is the worst! When I waiting to meet with the social worker, he actually went on and discussed my medical issues in the waiting area! Are you serious? Dr. Severson has the worst bedside manner ever! He seems very introverted, and lacks self confidence. He… might be amazing at what he specializes in but as far as patient care, if i could give him no stars I would. I am so happy that I found my new neurologist, because when I called to make an appt at my new MS center I was able to book an appt with ease and when descibing my new symptoms I got an MRI right away and it showed that I had several new lesions and i had ACTIVE MS. I was put on treatment and given a treatment plan and symptom management care right away. Dr. Severson was hesitant to put me on any disease modifying treatment and because of his lack of care I developed more lesions and his lack of symptom management i was in constant pain. he absoulely sucks! If you care enough about your disease do not see this dr. Save yourself the aggravation and see one of the other drs at the BWH MS center.
