Dr. Shank, a Colorado native, returns to the Denver area to practice dental medicine at Mountain View Dental Care.
Get to know Dr. Shank:  Dr. Christopher Shank, a Centennial native, was raised in the Cherry Park neighborhood, and attended Cherry Creek High School.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Minor in anatomy and neurobiology from Colorado State University. Dr. Shank then head east to pursue his career and attended the University of Connecticut Doctor of Medical Dentistry program.  He was awarded the prestigious Fox Award by the dental school faculty as the student who demonstrated the highest clinical, professional and leadership skills. He graduated with a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (DMD) in 2004 with distinction.
Dr. Shank had shown a continued commitment to patient care, initially serving as a certified nursing assistant at Colorado State University, …then volunteering in the Hartford Connecticut local community, educating children about dental health and by donating his time to examine and treat migrant farm workers.  In 2004, Dr. Shank appreciated the opportunity to travel to rural villages in Peru to provide dental care along the Amazon River.
Dr. Shank pursued a surgical dental residency at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.  During his residency, he provided treatment to underserved patients, managed dental care of hospital inpatients and gained experience in the emergency treatment and reconstruction in oral and facial trauma.  In addition, he provided oral care to medically complex patients including patients with head and neck cancers.  For the past several years, Dr. Shank was in private practice at Northwestern Dental Center and in the Chicago area.
Dr. Shank’s professional memberships include the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Denver Metropolitan Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and Colorado Prosthodontics Society.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Shank enjoys running, golfing and spending free time with his family. He successfully completed the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon in 90 plus degree heat in 2007!  He enjoys casual golfing and would like to continue to explore the Rocky mountains.  He is a proud Denver Broncos fan but will continue to cheer for his former cities teams, the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox!
Dr. Shank lives in the Denver area with his fiancé, Dr. Lesley Bevan, a obstetrician-gynecologist at Metropolitan OB-Gyn and Rose Medical Center and his 1 year old Labrador retriever.  Dr. Shank’s extended family has lived in the Denver area for over 30 years.
