He couldn’t tell a sore throat from a massive infection that needed a tonsillectomy. He treated me like I was only there for drugs. No compassion whatsoever!

I have a laundry list of health problems at the young age of 23. I just recently moved to Steamboat and needed to establish care with a primary. Dr. Speer sat down and started the appointment. I told him I had a lot of issues to talk about and he actually told me we probably didn't have time to talk about a lot of the issues. Sure enough we didn't. He had me go in for a back x-ray which was a weird experience in and of itself, done with an open door to the office area where employees were chatting and laughing. I got back to the room waited 20 minutes only to have doctor come back in and give me a refferal for a specialist, just a first name and phone number, written on a scrap piece of paper. With that we were done, I felt like he had a hand on the door the entire time we were talking. It seemed like I was inconveniencing him with all of my issues. I did not feel comfortable. Go for a different doctor.

Dr Speer is 5 for 5 in diagnosing and treating medical problems for me when I had scant success with othe medical practitioners, especially other Doctors. Dr Speer spent a lot of time with me asking questions that led him to a practical solution to my problems. Very smart. A little direct with his questions. Othe Doctors I have visited we’re big on “nice” but could not diagnose nor cure my (various) health problems which ran the gamete from smashed fingers to bacterial infection of my trachea.
