Dr. Christopher Thomas Stokoe, MD

The Doctor always has a reason to not be available. You will speak and see the assisting nurse more than you will see the doctor. You will need to know more about Cancer to provide recommendations on treatment then they will provide. (If they even listen) You're treated as an illness, not a person. They pitch services as a sale, not as a treatment option. This is the most stressful time of a patients life, and more often than not it seems it's preyed upon. Ask for scans frequently because they will not be proactive with it. Want a brain scan? Too bad. Want a PET Scan, MAYBE!

I've been going to Dr. Stokoe for 7 years. 3 separate cancers. Let's face it an oncologist rapidly becomes one of the most important people in your life. Not only am I alive, I believe, because of Dr. Stokoe but my life is richer for having that kind, wise, and funny man in my life. Also, google the article about him and one of his patients in the Dallas Morning News. Amazing.

I scheduled new patient appt with Dr. Stokoe. Due to family emergencies I had to cancel. When tried to reschedule, his assist. told my wife ‘Dr. Stokoe doesn’t want to see your husband’. When my wife asked why, his assistant said because we cancelled? First, we cancelled 24-48 hours prior, second, rescheduling doesn’t make anyone evil and doesn’t disqualify from seeing a doctor again. But if he is that cocky, good riddance. I wouldn’t want uncompassionate and judgmental oncologist anyway.

Dr. Stokoe has been treating me for Colon Cancer for 2 years. He went out of his way to get me into a clinical trail (Chemo did not work) that not only I had to be approved but Tx Oncology had to be approved. This saved my life ad the treatment is working. They had to go through many hoops for me. They care and it shows.

Dealing with cancer is very tough. First visit with Dr. Stokoe was great. He took the time to explain everything. Once chemo started experience went downhill. Developed complications that caused additional pain and added medical expenses. Couldn't get good diagnosis. Recommended treatments not successful. Waits to see doctor were routinely long. (30-45 minutes)

Dr. Stokoe is a wonderful doctor to have when dealing with cancer treatment. I had breast cancer and he was always kind, compassionate, and caring in my appointments with him. He helped ease my stress and gave me confidence in dealing with my treatment, which was not as horrid as I thought it would be. He was up to date on the latest treatments. I never felt like a number on a file folder. He was personable and treated me like a friend, which helps put one at ease. I continued to see him for 5 years following my treatment and it was always nice to see him again. Would highly recommend him when needing cancer treatment.

Very knowlegable. Friendly and caring. Looks you in the eyes when he talks to you.
