Dr. Christopher Stowe, MD

My visit was so bad I called Patient Advocate and reported Dr. Stowe. After waiting 2 hours he spent less than 5 minutes with me. And half that time he had his hand on the door. First impression was he was disheveled. Dirty sneakers and scrubs that were visibly worn. Exam consisted of asking me to walk a few steps and listened to my breathing. Right away suggested an injection. When I advised it was taking a very long time for an MRI he said they were over rated in his opinion and not necessary. And when I also told him it was 3 months to get an appointment with him he twice talked about politics. The Patient Advocate put me in touch with the office manager who switched me to another doctor and gave me an earlier follow up appointment. If possible I would have given him a negative rating.

Excellent individualized pain management, with the results being effective. Four years of quality care .

I’ve suffered with chronic back pain for years and years. I’ve seen many doctors around New England, but none could pin point exactly why I was having so many issues. Dr. Stowe kindly took the time to listen to me, and figure out what my issues were, rather than jump the gun like other doctors in the past. After just a few consultations, he developed a personalized plan of treatment that has been immensely effective. I’m thankful for my great experience with Dr. Stowe and I urge others suffering to go see him.

Dr. Stowe has done nothing to help me and has taken no time to learn about me needs. At my last appointment with him told me "you may have arthritis in my spine". That was groundbreaking. If he had just taken the time to read by chart he would see I have been being treated for osteoarthritis for nearly two decades and undergone three surgeries on my lower back. My appointment entails me being given a prescription and then sent on my way; see you soon and don't forget your copay. I am happy to say I have already changed doctors and I am receiving better treatment within a few simple weeks. Good riddance! I hate the commute to Boston, but at least I am getting the help I need.

I would recommend Dr Stowe

Dr. Stowe apparently thinks only his time is important. I wait over an hour every time I have to see him. He always looks disheveled. Has horrible bedside manners. Speaks to you like your nothing and he is far superior. I can't wait for my pain to go away, this way Dr. Stowe will go away.

Don't believe the negative comments noted here. Many patients referred to pain management are drug seeking!!! When they don't get a prescription for drugs, they lash out at the pain doctors. The physicians I saw prior to Dr Stowe only wanted to prescribe narcotics: Dr Stowe saved my life by performing an epidural steroid injection. I felt incapacitated prior to his injection, but now have returned to all the enjoyable things I used to do. Thank you Dr Stowe for giving me my life back!!!

Gut feeling from the very first visit that he was all about the money. Did not get treated with any respect or understanding. Pushes expensive injections and if you don't want one then you are nothing. I can go on but get seriously upset thinking why he got into pain management with no bedside manner or compassion.

He saved my life. I was in so much pain before I met Dr. Stowe, but within two visits, I was already feeling better. Thank you Dr. Stowe, thank you!!!!
