Dr. Christopher Keoni Tiner, MD

My partner was admitted to Huntington Hospital and diagnosed with strep sanguinis on a Friday night, requiring some teeth extractions to be followed by heart surgery. Dr. Tiner asked for payment upfront, instead of accepting Medi-cal or allowing us to make a payment plan, or to bill us direct. The cost was to be $1,750.00. The surgery was withheld until the payment could be made in full, and was postponed eventually a full week. By that time my partner had experienced further complications and the oral extractions had to be delayed yet again. Finally, two weeks after he was admitted to the hospital, and ten days after the pre-payment had been made, the extractions were done. By then it was too late; the infection had worsened to the point where my partner could not undergo the heart surgery, and he died in the hospital. Could this have been prevented if the teeth had been extracted immediately, instead of waiting for pre-payment? We will never know. But I paid $1,750.00 so my partner… could have the necessary teeth extractions, And then we waited, and what did I get in return? My dead boyfriend's corpse. As for Dr. Tiner, I haven't received so much as an expression of regret or sympathy. I would like to understand how a prerequisite for life-saving surgery can be withheld for pre-payment in full when it could have been billed. Is this standard practice?

Disappointing result and service.

this is a MD who takes time to listen to your concerns and give you the best care possible. His hands are truly gifted! great results

Dr Tiner himself seems like a great doctor. But getting in to see him or making an appointment is the worst experience. His "assistant" is unprofessional and doesn't return phone calls, ignores messages you leave, and doesn't consider the patients schedule when scheduling anything. You need to make multiple phone calls just to get a call back. When rescheduling because she often schedules poorly she doesn't take the patient into consideration. I would not recommend going to this office for any procedure

a great dr. in every sense of the word. a great human being. dr. tiner puts you in a positive mind set from the very beginning. he performed five reconstructive surgeries on my scalp following a cancer diagnosis. i felt totally at ease as i went through a series of surgeries. when you look forward to a drs. office visit, and get wheeled into an o.r. where your surgeon (dr. tiner) has everyone laughing, you know that you're in good hands. i'm one blessed person.

Would not recommend.

Had a broken orbital bone,nose and fractured cheek bone. After the surgery it took a while but 3 months after it was as if nothing happened! Im only 18 and he took very well care of me! Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend this Doctor. He was very professional and caring. After a serious orbital eye break after a boxing match, he was able to correct the issue.

Whether you need cosmetic or reconstructive plastic surgery, Dr. Tiner is one of the most highly respected surgeons within the LA area.
