Dr. Christopher Wilson – Arrogant. Dismissive. Dangerous. This is the most painful thing I’ve ever written — because I never imagined I’d put my trust in a surgeon who would end up ruining my life. On January 1, 2023, I injured my wrist. After weeks of pain, inconclusive scans for fractures, minimum arthritis, and no improvement, I saw Dr. Christopher Wilson at Hand surgery Associates of Sacramento. I told him clearly: my wrist was the problem. I said it felt like a torn ligament or tendon. He dismissed that immediately and insisted the issue was thumb arthritis, even though I told him over and over: my thumb didn’t hurt, this is all documented. Being a little skeptical I asked twice if we should get updated imaging to be sure, He refused both times asking why? What would it show? He stated that he IS a board certified surgeon and I wasn’t and I didn’t know what I was talking about! He sounded rude and bothered but I didn’t want to get in an argument with the one person I needed… for help, so I didn’t pursue it. I now believe that was one of my biggest regrets and one of his most reckless mistakes — and I paid the price for it, not him. Dr. Wilson proposed a surgery on my thumb and a wrist denervation, even though my thumb had zero pain or limitation. I didn’t know what else to do. He was a board-certified surgeon. He acted so confident — but I now see that confidence for what it really was: unchecked arrogance. After surgery in February 2024, my thumb was basically frozen, barely moveable and my wrist pain — the whole reason I went in — was still there. I told him we may have operated on the wrong thing. Instead of listening, he got real defensive, raised his voice, said it was too early in the morning for this, said he was done with me, he is not doing any more surgeries on me, we are gonna let this heal and then THATS IT! and actually said And you agreed to it like it was all my fault! Actually blamed me for agreeing to the surgery. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing since I was the one who said my thumb was fine and he was the one that was trying to convince me that it’s not! After trying to get answers as to why he operated on my thumb when it wasn’t hurt He eventually told me he was “done with me” and kicked me out of his care. I was shocked. I didn’t need an ego — I needed a doctor. I actually cried on my drive home. Devastated! Desperate for answers, I found a new surgeon. She immediately ordered an arthroscopic scope procedure to verify what the problem really was before hacking away at an innocent patients hand, something that sounded terrific to me but something Dr. Wilson refused to do. This procedure would have certainly verified the real problem and prevented the unnecessary surgery on my thumb. Within minutes, she diagnosed me with a fully torn ligament in my WRIST! — the exact thing I had been saying from the start. The thumb had nothing to do with it. Now I’m preparing for another surgery to fix what should have been addressed in the first place. But the damage is done. I’ve lost thumb mobility. I can’t cook, play music, lift anything — basic things I used to do daily even after the injury but not after the surgery. I live with this pain and loss every single day.I am severely depressed that a surgeon can ruin someone’s life and get away with it and continue his business as if nothing happened while I suffer daily. In my opinion, Dr. Wilson is not just arrogant and incompetent— he is dangerous. He didn’t listen, ignored obvious signs, and made decisions based on assumptions instead of evidence and the patients thoughts . I believe he did what was easiest or most routine for him, not what was best for me. I foolishly gave this man the power to affect my life, and he did — permanently. This experience has left me with deep regret, depression and physical damage I may never recover from. Dr. Wilson was the perfect example of what I have been warned of when dealing with Work Comp doctors. I was transferred to him after my doctor and surgeon closed her practice and was hoping to discuss my healing process after Ulna shortening/Tfcc debridment orthoscopy. It’s been six months since surgery and the process of healing has been slow even with the great work my occupational therapist have done. On my first visit with Dr. Wilson he was unaware that I had even had surgery, I asked about where the Surgical/Therapy reports that were sent to him were at and all he said was “I don’t know” I was confused as to why I was there at that point seeing as he had not one clue about what status my healing process was in along with any surgical findings and Therapy reports. He at this point had me X-rayed to prove that I in fact am 100% healed from the Ulna shortening and am good to live the rest of my life worry free. Fantastic Dr. Wilson! Now let’s talk about my ligaments… that are not fully healed and concerns with other symptoms I am having with my arm post-op. This is where his “Fresno Doctor” attitude kicked in and he decided to belittle the rest of the doctors and therapist who have worked on me. (Remember this is all without him having any Pre or post-op reports) There was more to this appointment and I will spare the details but one thing can be said about this man. His goal is to push you out of his office as fast as possible to collect his checks and kick backs from the state. He does not care about your physical health today and he doesn’t care about your future. I would highly recommend finding a doctor that promotes health not his own financial gain.

Dr. Wilson seemed unprepared, uninterested and not willing to look further into my condition. He seemed to base his diagnosis on his impression of me and ignored my symptoms without further tests. He made me feel as if I was taking too much of his time without a reason. I expected a level of thoroughness from a specialist which, I am sorry to say, I did not find in him. I would not recommend him as the first choice of specialists.

This guy was awful. His attitude was so arrogant, there is simply no way i would allow him to touch me after the way he spoke to me. It was as if i had done something wrong, therefore he wasn't going to be bothered. That is simply unacceptable. His assistant was equally as bad, didn't even bother to tell us who he was....

Dr. Wilson and staff were awesome. I had an older piece of glass in my hand that needed to be surgically removed. Dr. Wilson was personable and professional. His staff were friendly and attentive. I could not have asked for a better experience, except for not being such a klutz and having to go in the first place. I highly recommend Dr. Christopher Wilson.

This doctor may be a good surgeon, but he lacks bedside manners. I had an awful experience and left the office in tears nobody should have to be spoken to in that manner and for doctor who doesn't even know you to pass judgement on your moral character. I could say more, but I will leave this to a higher authority.

First time I went to see him. The doctor was ready to refuse me having a problem. He did not read my file before we met. I had to tell him what was in my file. He has bad bedside manner. Dr. Wilson spent a lot of time going over the condition I have, possible treatment options and potential future complications. He was very kind and knowledgeable. His office staff was also friendly and I barely even had to wait to be seen. I would highly recommend Dr. Wilson.

It's very disturbing when a doctor can't properly diagnose you despite the impressive credentials in the degree of his specialty, and it's beyond bad bedside manner when a doctor does not take your assertions seriously only to pawn them off on another doctor because you: A)Don't want to think outside the box it's so much easier for you to just write the patient off B) Patient case load too huge C)You arrogantly refuse to believe what your patients tell them D) Most likely it's all of the above for you Dr.Wilson
