Dr. Christopher Alan Wright, DO

Dr. Wright is extremely knowledgeable, attentive and perceptive. He is also very down to earth.

Was taking care of my 89 year old mother for anxiety and depression. He was thorough, attentive, and took the time to really listen to her. I found him to be great. He also was caring for my husband who has depression, and my husband liked him too. Unfortunately he left the practice we were seeing him at, but I hope to locate where he is at now. Yes ( a pervious person commented) it is frustrating to work thru the medical service office in order to contact him.

I am not sure if only people who did not like him rated him but I felt he cared, listened and did what he could do for me. If didnt like something he said, i let him know and we discussed it.

I have only been seeing dr. Wright for 5 months, within those 5 months I had an issue with a prescription and called in to see if I should stop taking it, i called agian a week later and he never got back to me untill I saw him at our next appointment. Switched meds around, a month later I get a call the day of my appointment he had a family emergency and cancelled but would fill my script.. he was a week late filling it. Then another month goes by and I get a call saying he was cancelling his appointments for the day agian but would have my script at the front desk. I went immediately and basically cornered him to get a moment of his time to adjust my meds. He also referred my medication to "the good stuff" and made me uncomfortable as if I was taking it to get high and not to get help. If he would choose his words better and be more punctual I would not have had an issue. He did listen to my concerns and adressed them, but I need more consistency then what he has to offer.

STAY AWAY. This individual sounds wonderful on paper but is horrible in the clinical setting. He is accusatory and confrontational. There is no level of trust where he is concerned. I went with my son to be supportive and it was clear that he did not want me there. We will be looking for a new clinician within our health plan who might be able to be therapeutic and help my son through a crisis.

I totally agree with the other reviews for Christopher Wright. He is a very unprofessional, narcissistic person. My biggest complaint about Psychbc is that it takes FOREVER to get an answer from your doctor. You have to go through "Medical Services" who then email the doctor. For Dr. Wright this can take 24-72 hours which is horrible, and I was told that the emails aren't read by the doctors every day. I recently called in a question and it took 2 weeks to get back with me. I was told "He was on vacation." and another time "He had a family emergency." I decided to leave Psychbc and luckily got in to a new psychiatrist who, amazingly enough, got back to me within a few hours and once 24 hours. I would NEVER recommend Christopher Wright to anyone. He should definitely be let go.

Upon entering his office he told me that I was "clearly agitated". I didn't feel that way at all. I was feeling nervous, scared and vulnerable as I had never met this person in my life. I was his office for maybe 10 minutes and was attempting to describe to him what one of my manic states was like. I was using the metaphor of the feeling one has after being on a roller coaster to express the elated feeling of a bipolar manic state. Out of NOWHERE he looked at me and said "YOU KNOW WHAT... WERE ARE DONE HERE!!!". At first I thought this was some kind of tough therapy. He then stood up opened the door and told me that I was being "EXTREMELY RUDE" to him and to "GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!!!" Note: in his bio it stated that he specializes in Bipolar treatment. Completely shocked at how I could be rude to someone I had never met before, I repeatedly asked him "what are you talking about? rude how?" He just kept reiterating that I had been "VERY RUDE AND TO GET OUT NOW!!!". I went to the… reception desk and asked if I could speak to an office manager. I was told there was none. He then came back out of his office where I stated that "I was sorry if I came across as rude". Something I probably should not have said because his response was. "OH SO YOUR ADMITTING YOU WERE RUDE"!!!. At this point he was yelling in my face. I stated "Wait... You told me I was rude." I was not admitting to anything. He again told me to "GET OUT NOW" and said that I needed to leave out of the back door.I got into my car and balled my eyes out like I hadn't done in 20 years (I am a 48 year old man and I consider myself to be pretty tough) I thought to my self "Wow I must really be a piece of s*** if a professional treated me like that". (don't worry that feeling left me soon because I am a pretty rational guy). His type of behavior could potentially cause someone to have a mental break; possibly encouraging someone to take their own like or worse take out the lives of others like we have seen in these mass shootings. I feel that Psychbc is risking serious damages to the patient and the community resulting in possible legal action. Christoper A Wright has 100% no business practicing psychiatry. He is dangerous and needs to be blacklisted so this kind of treatment does not happen to anyone else.

This man was rude, cocky and aggressively contradictory to any answer I gave him. I've been seeing Psychiatrists since I was 14 for my ADHD and I have never encountered someone who treated me so poorly. I am going to be reporting an ethics violation to the APA. I've never been made to feel stupid or wrong like I was when talking to Christopher Wright. I just left my appointment and am still partially in shock and partially angry that he feels he can be condescending, get angry and raise his voice like he did. I wouldn't wish how I was treated on my worst enemy.

Within less than 5 minutes of first visit, left, got our money back and reported him to the psychiatry board! Not interested in anything you have to say, rude, narcissistic, put a wedge physically between my son and I and wouldn’t let him leave, pushed me with his chest and kept side stepping every time my son tried to talk to me. My son expressed he wanted me in there for a few minutes, Christopher did not want me in there and was mad before we sat down. I am a professional, nurse and a professional should meet the Pt. At their comfort level which was that my son requested to have me present. This man was very emotionally unstable to say the least and definitely displayed severe anger management issues and explosive behavior. Christopher displayed complete inappropriate behavior and needs help himself before he can possibly even begin to help anyone else. I have never experienced anything like this in my 30+ years of nursing. This profession is not for him! I am sure he knows his… behavior was extreme and inappropriate because we got our money back before leaving.
