Dr. Chun Peng Tiu Chao, MD

Dr. Chao saved my life when I was a child. When every other doctor wrote off my symptoms as Lyme disease or laziness, Dr. Chao looked deeper and found what it really was. An extremely rare auto-immune disease that would have left me paralyzed had she not helped me. I'm still incredibly grateful for her and would suggest her services to anyone.

My daughter and I waited for an hour after her scheduled appointment time. Dr. Chao was patronizing, arrogant, close-minded and dismissive. This at a time when my daughter is scared, hurting and undiagnosed. No matter the blood test results, we won't be going back.

I had tried to schedule an appointment for my 4 year old daughter for 4 months. I left message after message with no return phone call. After taking my daughter to the pediatrician one day for a rash from the sun, which was just the most recent symptom of many others that had yet to be diagnosed, she took one look at it and felt it was absolutely auto-immune related. Being Dr. Chao's office was in the same building as the pediatrician, she wanted my daughter's rash to be looked at while it was still present because this may have been the breaking point to diagnosing my daughter's medical issues. She had placed a courtesy call to Dr. Chao asking her if she had time to quickly look at her rash. Dr. Chao refused. My pediatrician told me to make my daughter an appointment ASAP and when scheduling it to relay that the pediatrician felt it was necessary to be seen quickly. When the message was relayed to Dr. Chao, again she refused. She said that it wasn't important enough for my daughter to… be seen next week and offered my daughter an appointment that was 2 months away. I never had the chance to actually interact with this Dr. personally but from what it seems, she doesn't seem very caring. My daughter has been suffering with varying issues for 2 years and if she had just simply taken out 5 minutes of her day to look at her rash and identify it as auto-immune, it could have been the end to her suffering and the beginning of her being treated.
