Dr Ciara L Freeman, MD, PhD

Dr. Ciara Freeman is a physician-investigator specializing in multiple myeloma and advanced cellular therapies, including autologous transplant and CAR-T therapy. She trained in hematology at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London, completed a master's degree in Clinical Drug Development, and earned a PhD in immuno-oncology at the Barts Cancer Institute. She joined Moffitt from the British Columbia Cancer Agency, where she served as Assistant Professor and Myeloma Lead.Her clinical work focuses on caring for patients with complex and high-risk plasma cell disorders, with an emphasis on optimizing outcomes using novel therapies. She has a particular interest in identifying patients at risk of early treatment failure or toxicity and adapting treatment strategies proactively. Her work also focuses on improving how disease burden and relapse are measured, integrating clinical, imaging, and laboratory data to support more precise and individualized care.
