Dr. Cindy Louise Sweatman

Cinandra is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) specializing in a variety of disorders including anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorder, and behavioral disturbance. Cinandra's primary goal is to establish relationships with her patients that are both empowering as well as educational. Cinandra treats both adolescents as well as adults, covering the various issues experienced across the lifespan. Her role as a PMHNP is a multifaceted one, in which Cinandra works as an advocate, educator, and collaborator. She is diligent in the care that she provides and strives to attain positive outcomes for all of her clients, helping them reach their optimal mental health goals. Cinandra completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Augusta University, with a doctoral focus on the provision of emotionally appropriate yet comprehensive care to geriatric hospice patients. Said studies provided Cinandra the opportunity to work with clientele from various cultures, …socioeconomic statuses, and mental health backgrounds. Her education and experience, in conjunction with her desire to provide excellent care, allow Cinandra to naturally build rapport with clients and their families. Said relationships matter to Cinandra, as she strives to have each client feel respected and validated. In addition to medication management, Cinandra utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) techniques, culturally sensitive communication, emotionally-focused communication, motivational interviewing, and person-centered techniques when working to develop treatment plans.
