Dr. Cindy Esther Atkins, MD

I let her practice in tears. I agree with the others reviews "She is rude and verbally abusive". You don't go to the university to learn how to treat people with respect, your family should raised and taught how to treat others persons. I blame your parents and you for that. You are RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL.

I have been with Dr. Atkins for about 4 years. I absolutely think she is one of the best physicians I have ever had. I feel like I am taken very well care of. She is very thorough and inquiring. I have felt better since I have been seeing her. She is very caring and pleasant. Now, in reference to other reviews, Dr. Atkins will give you the facts and what she feels is the best care. If you want someone to beat around the bush and not be honest and straightforward then go somewhere else. She takes plenty of time with each patient and explains things so you can understand. As in all doctors offices they run behind occasionally however, I don't mind as long as when I'm the sick one she takes extra time for me and SHE HAS! She's an excellent physician.

I can't believe these so called "awards" and "recognition." If I could rate her a 0 that would be too much. Dr. Cindy Atkins is rude, non caring and verbally abusive. I have been under her care for a little over a year after my long time doctor moved out of state. At first I excused her demeanor seeing how we were both new to each other and maybe I had to get to know her. Well I have and nothing has change and seeing the other review I know now that this is just how she is. She is a poor healthcare professional. Your doctor is supposed to be the closest to you other than a spouse or parent. I spoke to her about my smoking and my desire to stop and she told me to just quit. All my worries and concerns she just made into bigger issues because she dismissed them as if I wasn't even a human being. The straw that broke the camels back was when I voiced my concern about my weight. She diagnosed me with high blood pressure and I take 2 pills a day for it. I have gained over 30lbs while… under her care and she hasn't even bothered to wonder why. I voiced my concern and told her that it surely can't be good with my bp and you know what she told me. There is no magic pill in the most harsh tone possible. You burn more calories than you consume is how you lose weight. I looked at her silently and got up and left. Something must have clicked in her head that I've had it and she tried to clean it up nicely but at that point I was done. There were several other times when I felt disgusted, embarrassed and ashamed because of her but I won't get in to it. Don't waste your time with her or this practice.

Physician spent minimal time with me, did not ask many questions, did not seem very interested in visit.

Dr Atkins spends time with her patients and staff is very friendly. I always ask for her office directly and feel like they are very helpful and go the extra mile

Dr, Atkins is very rude and talks down to you - as if you are very stupid. She told my son that she did not "believe in" Attention Deficit Disorder. Dr. Atkins also did not know that you have to order Free T3 and Free T4, along with Reverse T3 to properly and accurately determine Thyroid Function. All of this showed that Dr. Atkins does NOT keep up with current medical literature and practice accordingly. Big RED FLAG! Do NOT recommend!!

It's a shame to be greeted by a doctor that received an award for being the most compassionate to walk in the exam room and ask you to leave based off her students discussion with me regarding my preference to see the doctor and not her. Compassion is not accurate. More like judgmental and uncompassionate Disgusted....I just waited over a month (and an hour) to see Dr. Atkins based on a recommendation to see her and was greeted with a rude, disrespectful, judgmental doctor that walked into the room and told me "with all of your problems you would be more suited to see an Internal medicine doctor" she also went on to tell me that I was rude to her staff (her PA student). When I called to make the appointment I asked to see Dr. Atkins, not a student. The student pushed on my stomach and asked if it hurt, listened to my lungs through my shirt (which is a no no) and proceeded to tell me after I questioned would I get to see Dr. Atkins and if she, the student was going to do a more thorough… exam such as palpate my organs etc.....told me that addressing my issues and doing a physical that they didn't have time to do a physical and take care of my problems that it was a billing issue. So after wasting an hour of my time which I felt like the entire visit, problems and all could have been addressed during that time. I have spent over 27 years in the medical field and courteous and " Most Compassionate Doctor" is not what you will find in Dr. Atkins. I have been very reluctant to see a physician and the time that I do decide to go this is what I get. Thanks and no thanks. I am a nurse and a professional and Dr. Atkins visit today was totally unprofessional on her part and if I were her I would reconsider the medical profession because it requires a compassionate person. Thank you

Dr. Atkins is very easy to talk to and respectful.

I found Dr Atkins to be caring and compassionate. The Dr spent extra time listening and ordered several tests that confirmed her diagnosis. I was treated with courtesy and respect by the entire office. I called back with several questions that I had forgotten to ask at my appointment and was given prompt attention. I will recommend this Dr to all my friends.

she actually gave up on trying to dx me and just started throwing pills at me now I'm still sick and at my wits end trying to deal with it.
