Dr. Cindy Elizabeth Long, MD

I’m just a regular gal needing some estrogen replacement. My bloodwork showed I was out of estrogen and I wanted to be taking care of my cardiovascular and bone health. She inserted a pellet of testosterone in me thatI didn’t need. And then she prescribed progesterone to take misleading me to think that she did the right thing. Dr. Volin caught the mistake and called me. He told me to dispose of the progesterone immediately that she gave me estrogen medicine instead of what I really needed was estrogen. Not only that, but 6 months of it. I’m getting severe headaches from it and my chest is cramping like. I’m reporting her to the Co. medical board. I saw that she had faced them before for malpractice. I’m feeling obligated to do the right thing before anyone gets seriously hurt. She could give a full dose of estrogen to your husband, dad or brother with devastating results. I’m taking to the medical board of Co. everything has been documented.

Dr. Long is extremely knowledgeable, capable and compassionate. What an amazing combination. I've had many gynecologists over the years, but she far surpasses them all.

Dr. Long is caring and kind, despite being extremely busy she makes you feel like you have time to discuss anything.

My first appointment for an annual pap was so uncomfortable! There were 2 students and a secretary (?) there as I met my new Gyn. I sat naked on the table under bright lights very uncomfortable, but I listened to Dr. Long and followed thru with her recommendation. I was told that when I had been off the birth control pill to stop in for a blood test--just tell the girls up front that this was to see if I am going into the change of life. I did this and sat there for over an hour as they all searched my records for Dr. longs recommendation---and found nothing! They took my blood. I called for the results and one young women said they are normal for my age--but I should let Dr. Long tell me. I waited 10 days and called back only to be told I needed to make another appt. because she would not tell me on the phone that everything is perfectly normal! Needless to say, I've gone back to Alcott Women's Center where I had gone for the previous 25 years!

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Long. She was very dry and very uncompassionate when it came to her bedside manner. My husband and I were faced with a miscarriage and she showed no compassion or emotion behind her when she gave us the bad news. I asked for a doctor's note for time needed way from work due to this circumstance and she gave me a hard time about it. As if what we were going through was not enough justifcation to miss work. I wouldn't recommend anyone to her. I waited over an hour to be seen, and the office staff was extremely rude!

She is very easy to talk to, down to earth, yet professional and always explains things in terms you can understand. I have recommended her to others and will continue to do so. Very nice person.

Dr Cindy Long was rated so well that's why we chose her to delivery our baby! Big MISTAKE!!! My daughter almost died in the care of her and the North Suburban Staff. She never once followed up with me or the status of my daughter once she was flight for life from North Suburban. She left me for hours on end in induced labor without checking on me. During shift change at the hospital no one cared for me our my daughter. Needless to say this was the worst experience of my LIFE! My daughter was in Intensive NICU for over 2 weeks thanks to her pore judgement and poor judgement of the staff. I have persuade a law suite against her and the hospital staff. The Women's health care was great but do not pick her for a DR. Poor follow up poor judgement poor decision making! Very sad I let a professional that had the hands of my daughter and I in hers and she treated us the way she did. That's not a DR.

I was a patient of Dr. Longs for 7 years. After all that time I was still always waiting in the office for nearly an hour to be seen. Her time explaining things was short or not at all. If you asked in depth quesitons regarding important issues like side effects of medications she would not answer anything directly. She was very evasive as if she would be held liable. Unfortunate for her current patients who aren't getting all the information they should be!!!
