Dr. Cindy Zadikoff, MD

I don't think she deserves to stay as a physician in a big name institution like northwestern. Her exam on me was very rough.

My brother has Young Onset Parkinson's disease and has been seeing Dr. Zadikoff for a few years now every few months. Shen has always been kind, understanding and to the point. I am very surprised to see so many negative reviews of her, as she has done very well with my brother and we are very thankful for her.

On my second visit with Dr. Zadikoff for my on/off appointment she suggested a new delivery system for the carbidopa/levadopa drug for Parkinson's. I have tried it and I am very happy with the results. My experience with Dr. Zadikoff was very positive. She has always answered any communications promptly, which is important since I live three hours away from Chicago.

I have been seeing Dr Zadicoff for about 3 years. I find her to be very caring and extremely well qualified. the reviews that I see here are surprising to me. I find she always spends enough time with me to answer all my questions. I find her manner very cordial. She has been very accommodating when I have had to see her with short notice. I would not hesitate to recommend her.

I would not recommend Dr. Zadikoff to anyone who does not present with textbook symptoms of disorders she is interested in, or does not already have a firmly established diagnosis. I understand she is a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders, however she seems to view her patients as either conducive to her interests, or someone else's problem. Dr. Zadikoff's approach is rather one dimensional, and instead of viewing patients as human beings she attempts to diagnose and treat them as exclusively a body system. I have no doubt she is well educated in the area of movement disorders (although with only a few years of experience) but judging from her interaction with patients she would most likely do more good in a research setting where she is not in constant contact with people in need of treatment, nor do people have the misfortune of interacting with her. Unfortunately, for all of her education Dr. Zadikoff lacks basic traits found in truly great doctors, such as the… ability to listen and correlate a patient's experience with medical findings, not being dismissive or condescending, or admitting she simply does not know what the problem is instead of chalking it up to "underlying anxiety," or passing you off to another specialty without further inquiry. If you have a complex medical history or symptoms which do not fit neatly into textbook cases, I would recommend you do not see Dr. Zadikoff.

Nasty, unhappy lady. Not up on latest information. Arrogant! Not informative. Hates her job??

This "physician" doesnt seem to care. Very arrogant and standoffish. No Care Plan offered after first visit for Parkinsons Disease. Said very little. Ordered drug but offered no infor about it. Seemed to not be vested in my care or her job at all. Very strange. Dont want to see again.

This is not a doctor I would recommend for anyone to see. She blamed everything on anxiety, while it was known that I had a neck injury that caused my issues/tremors. But she was demeaning and chalked it all up to stress and that I should essentially "let it go and live with it because it's nothing." Still having issues, and this being the doc I was referred to, I saw her a second time where she grabbed at my leg without warning flipping them up and down hastily. Which caused my shoes to flip across the room, she left them there without apology and made me pick them up having to walk barefoot across the dirty floor! To top it all off, she made it seem like it was silly of me to have come back when it was SHE who refused to answer my questions on the phone and told her nurse for me to come in! She even got hostile in talking loudly over my questions, where I had to essentially put her in her place and ask why the hostility of my asking questions for my life and health and neck… injury?! She's all of 4'10 and seems to walk around with a chip on her shoulder, without any personality to show or much knowledge of anything. She gave little info about anything, nor references to be of much help. I would never suggest anyone to see her, she's an angry little person and I'm not shocked that others her have reviewed her in a similar light!

Doesnt seem to care.......

I was 36 when Dr. Zadikoff diagnosed me with parkinsons disease. She has been a god send for me. she takes her time with me on every visit, and I feel really cares about me. I travel three hours evry three months too see her. I look forward to her being my M.D. for a long time.
