Dr. Cinthia Bateman

This doctor is not at all friendly and treats both patients and nurses in an abusive manner.

I collapsed on public transit and luckily fellow passengers came to my aid giving CPR. EMTs revived me (AED - 2 times) and transported me to Swedish. After I was coherent, Dr. Bateman came around and spoke with me. Eventually I got her to speak with both my wife (an RN) and I. She told us her findings and her recommendations and with the sudden onset suggested placement of an AICD. (which we did not do) A year later, I am still going thanks to three stents and a minor adjustment in diet. (normally healthy - not overweight, just a slight history of heart disease in the family) Dr. Bateman talked me through the stent placements, showed me the three problem areas and repaired them. She never seemed hurried was willing to listen to my wife's concerns and was very nice and professional too.

Nice at first. Don't ask questions. She is set in her ways and thinks things should be done one way, her way. Thinks all patients are the same and if you don't fit the mold, you must be doing something wrong, not that you just don't fit the typical mold. Everyone is different. Nurse is condescending. Thinks you couldn't possibly know anything. Friend was misdiagnosed, changed doctors and got the correct treatment. Friend didn't fit her mold. We are not all clones. We are individuals that react differently to treatment. Don't group us all together as if we are all the same, look at us as individuals. Check charts and blood work before prescribing drugs that may be harmful.

All visits to doctors' offices should be as pleasant as mine. Very friendly, knowledgeable and proficient. The office staff, after speaking with Dr. Bateman, were able to schedule a follow-up appointment within the time frame I had available. I am very impressed with her and her staff.
