The best Doctor,a petient can hope for.

I was referred to Dr. Beard by my surgical oncologist and I know now how fortunate I was to be sent to her. She and her staff not only treated me for my kidney and prostate cancers but coordinated my care and follow ups throughout Brigham & Women's, Dana-Farber Clinic, and my out of state primary care. All the while providing me and my wife the utmost person to person care and real concern for our coping with cancer. On a scale of four, she's a five!!

A little while ago, I got the shocking news that I had Testicular Cancer. Time stopped for a minute, until my wife and I met Dr. Beard. We didn't know where to start, so we just starting searching for Testicular Cancer experts in Boston. I'll save you the time...Dr. Beard is it. In other words, Dr. Beard = the best treatment you can get if you have Testicular Cancer. Given her credentials, we called her office thinking we would wait a few months before we could get an appointment. To the contrary, she saw us the next day, which was critical given the urgency of treatment for a newly discovered testicular tumor. When we met her, my wife and I were strung pretty tight! She immediately recognized this and first treated our fears, anxieties, and concern before we even got into the nitty gritty of cancer treatment. She is a conscious healer of both body AND mind. She goes above and beyond. From tracking down the chief of urological surgery to get me an urgent consult to walking my… wife and I to the cafeteria :). Big things and little things, Dr. Beard has been a savior. Not to mention, she is on the forefront of testicular cancer research and is among the world's most prominent experts in the field. To be clear, we are generally not believers of unduly putting doctors on pedestals. They are humans, they are fallible, and they sometimes don't know what they don't know. All that being said, Dr. Beard has earned the pedestal in our eyes and if you have Testicular Cancer, don't even blink an eye, just call her office now!

after consults/biopsy etc for prostate cancer at 3 other hospitals, which were not satisfactory, i chose dfci after some research and research re: clair beard md.i am now in remission from stage 3 pc and i think the world of this woman!!!! kind, caring, knowledgeable in all matters. i looked forward to my appointments as she put me at ease and understood, as a woman, the struggles a man goes thru in fighting pc. dr beard is simply AWESOME!!!!! 5 stars!!! i am so fortunate in having her as a member of my team!!!

Dr Beard and her staff are absolutely fantastic! Dr Beard is brilliant, professional and demonstrates a level of care which few could achieve. My confidence and hopes for survival were shattered until Dr Beard became involved with my care. Not only did Dr Beard give me hope, she gave me outstanding care and the chance to live! Words can not adequately describe my gratitude and admiration for Dr Beard.

i am a stage 3 prostate cancer patient and i cannot praise dr beard enough....she is absolutely SUPERB,WONDERFUL and CARING as is her nurse darlene fix....excellent, kind, compassionent care....100 stars to both!!!
