Dr. Claire Esther Brenner, MD

First I want to say that Dr. Brenner is very pleasant and appeared to be confident but front staff is VERY rude. I waited 1.5 hours after my scheduled appt. to be seen. She never ran the first test, just ordered IV antibiotics based on past history and referral from my primary care doctor. My medication co-pay was $1200 but I was all in, if it worked. It did not. I wasn't even mad, just discouraged. I was infected within a week after finishing the IV meds. It took a week for her to call me back with a Rx! I was in pain! I also called with a medication question and never did get a return call about that. Very slow to return calls. The worst part came AFTER I had decided NOT see her again. Her billing practices are shady. First they refused to take my office visit co-pay for either visit. Said they won't take any money until the insurance pays. Very weird, but okayyyy. Then, both of the insurance claims (two different dates of service) she submitted were denied (her office never… said a word to me about it, I found out when I was checking with my insurance about another claim with a different provider and casually asked about Brenner's). My insurance carrier said it was because each claim was submitted the same day TWICE with different billing codes, which causes them to be flagged. But she never resubmitted corrected claims. My insurance stated this is not an uncommon practice. A physician can not bill insurance after one year so they wait until one year after the first submission and then bill the patient for the full amount. I believe this may be the case because they wouldn't even take my co-pay at the time of the office visit and at the time of my 2nd visit when I asked about the first visit I was told, " Oh, your insurance paid in full". I know this isn't true after talking to my insurance - they were both denied! I've seen other reviews on different review sites stating she billed thousands of dollars a year after seeing a patient. This doctor has lost my trust. And going forward I will be reading reviews BEFORE seeing any new doctor. One final note: At the time of my first visit when signing all the normal documents we all sign, (but I actually read), there was one entire page with all the legal mumbo jumbo dedicated to my financial responsibility if my insurance didn't pay. I started to sign it because I do not have a problem paying my bills but the wording was weird and my radar went off. I didn't sign it and they didn't notice.

I have been with Brenner for over 3 years. In that I have had utmost professionalism help from her. She, to me has been very knowledgeable and excellent with her guidance.

Dr Brenner is a very good Dr..if not ofor her..I would have never connected the dots to what was wrong with me..long stories short. It was from a group of antibiotics ..i was given Levaquin in the hospital.. My body will never be the same..its a daily battle..Dr Brenner can explain it better.. I thank her so much..!!

I just had my follow up visit with Dr. Brenner and I cannot say enough good things about her and her staff. They were professional and courteous. The appointment from start to finish was about 45 minutes. That is well in the time of Dr.'s appointments that I go to. I have found that, in my adult life, people usually treat you with kindness and respect if you treat them like that first

The whole staff is great and I couldn't ask for a better Doctor

Dr Brenner is a nice lady but half the work she does seems to be taking a "best guess" approach. She has no commitment to showing up on time. 30 to 45 minutes wait past appointment even if your the first appointment of the day. Front desk is rude. Her nurse Reagan is decent and the phlebotomists they rotate through there are always professional.

Dr. Brenner and her nurse are very thorough and knowledgeable. I appreciate everything they have done for me.

I won't go into my personal story as that will do nothing of any substance here. However, I will personally confirm the other reviews that mention how rude the staff is, particularly the front desk. The doc was ok, but I wouldn't choose them if I had a choice. I'm not sure if they all need a vacation or what but the "bedside" manner there reminds me of scenes from One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.

We left message for Dr. or her assistant to please call back regarding medication conflict. One week later, still no return call. When I called them, assistant answered and told me that she had sent medication order to infusion company, so she did not need to call me back. I shared that I had questions about the medication and needed her or the Dr. herself to call me back. She told me that Dr. would never call me back under any circumstances. I ask her why, because it seems odd that the Doctor will quite easily take the thousand of dollars that they get. She said she would put me on "HOLD", so I could calm down. What incredibly unprofessional service. When she came back she asked if I wanted to make an appointment, only then could I speak to the Doctor. I asked her since they had ordered a medication that has a potentially dangerous interaction with other medication currently being used, could she please ask the Doctor to check that out. She told me again that I would have to… make an appointment to even get the Doctor to speak to me. When I told her that I really did not understand the rules that her Doctor has set up and I really did not wish to make an appointment, she said .O.K. and just hung up the phone. THIS UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE SHOULD BE SURPRISING, BUT WITH THE PATTERN WE SEE IN MEDICINE, THERE IS NO REAL PASSION FOR HELPING THE PATIENT, EXCEPT THE PASSION FOR DOING YOUR JOB JUST ENOUGH TO GET THE MONEY, BUT NOT HELPING THE PATIENT. The Doctor herself is most likely not even aware of what is going on in her own office. The term "First, do no harm" is really brought into question here.
