Claire Meena-Leist, MD

Claire E. Meena-Leist, M.D., is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with a subspecialty certification in blood banking/transfusion medicine. She graduated from University of Louisville School of Medicine where she also completed her pathology residency and fellowship. Dr. Meena-Leist began her career in transfusion medicine at the American Red Cross Blood Services. She resigned from her position as division chief medical officer of American Red Cross Blood after many years of service to become the chief of transfusion medicine services at UofL Health. Dr. Meena-Leist has several publications in peer review journals, is often an invited speaker and has served on local, national and international committees. Her primary interests are clinical service and medical education.
