Dr. Clara Lucy Polak, MD

This doctor is on PROBATION for GROSS NEGLIGENCE! Do not trust her with yourself or your family! She is terrible. She is dismissive and rude with little to no regard for patients. We only discovered that her ability to practice medicine was restricted after she gave extremely subpar care to my family member and I looked her up on the California Medical Board website. And yes... all other poor reviews are accurate...ALWAYS a 2+hour wait beyond appointment time. Please check the CA medical board website for further details of her criminal activities under the guise of “doctor”.

Wait time was more than 4 hours for my mother to be seen, then for some reason she tried hard to convince me to not take mom to the ER. I took mom to the ER a day later anyway and turned out she was completely misdiagnosed. Avoid this place like the plague.

I am attending that clinic since 2017, and I am so glad I found them. I do not mind if they are NP, PA, to me are the best. Because of the NP, I am free of pain, she did research and found the best Neurosurgeon in San Diego. Because of PA, I am healthy, every time he checks up on me, I get well the very next day. Always with a smile on their faces, apologizing if made hold for a minute. Thank you for being like that.

This doctor completely misdiagnosed my father without full examination or even conducting any tests. My father went into the walk-in clinic because he was suffering from chronic itchiness. She dismissively said it must be because he was infected with a bug and prescribed incredibly harsh medicine that made his condition much worse. The lack of professional care from this woman was appalling. Not knowing any better, we really thought that was what was wrong--this delayed any real treatment for my father and exacerbated his conditions. This woman's "treatment" of my father is disgusting and her license should be revoked. I do not recommend anyone see this woman. She does not deserve to be called doctor.

Dr. Polak was certainly friendly but my visit at her office left a lot to be desired. I was in the office for almost 3 hours for a simple well visit and it took 15 minutes just for front office staff to acknowledge I was there after signing in (despite them sitting at the desk on my arrival). Her medical assistant wore a white coat and referred to himself as doctor. She recommends patients use her urgent care staffed by physician assistants (no physicians are listed on staff). Also, it was apparent she is not up to date with current medical guidelines and offered some very odd advice inconsistent with current practices. Seems she is more interested in running businesses than providing good, safe patient care.

My problem is the "wait" time I've experienced since I have been a patient. Thankfully, I have had few problems seeing her yearly over last 18 years. The wait time - for early AM or PM is usually 3 or more hours! My latest appointment at 0830 on Monday 14th was a total of 4 hours- for a yearly, simple exams and to get a prescription for a refill if she felt I still needed it. Exhausted, I did not notice that the refill was for the "FULL" dose and not the usual half. Also, my next scheduled appointment to check vitals is set for "Presidents Day" which I will have to cancel. What can I do? Change doctors? I just hate having to sit for hours!

My wife and I are offended at our family's experience here today. While Lucy Polak may have been a popular doctor in the past, it is clear that the organization of this office and the quality of service have taken a nose dive here. We asked in advance what the wait time would be, stating that we had other events to get to... "no problem," we were told. After a 90 minute wait time we were promised we would avoid, my wife and son were taken to a room where she brought in a new young male intern. My wife was rushed out, being told that the men would talk privately b/c our son is 16 now. My wife had some serious questions and wanted to stay, but was not given a chance. 30 more minutes later, she called our son, who was left alone in the room the whole time. She told him to come out b/c they were leaving without service. She asked the clerk if he needed any shots, told them we had to go, and got immediate service (because Polak's $200 billable hour was about to walk out the door).… Lucy Polak then gave my family very disrespectful, rude, and poor service. Frustrated by a patient who demanded service 2 hours after the appointment time, she flippantly discredited my wife's childhood diagnosis she asked about, dismissed my son's true need to see an internist as "that's just his way," and then rudely told my wife she wasn't parenting him correctly and told her to get off his back! Time to find a competent doctor. Don't believe the hype. We were done a disservice, and my wife and son deserve an apology. This lady definitely thinks her time is more valuable than yours, and does not care about her patients.

Dr. Polak is an excellent Doctor, I've been taking my mother there for years now, yes alot of times you won't be seen at your exact appt. time, the office is always overly full with patients, yes she sometimes has emergency patients, but she is WORTH the wait. If you don't like this office then find another place to go. I've never had any rude staff, they too deal with alot of upset people and to me are very patient. Everyone is just doing their job, and Dr. Polak is a very humble, understanding doctor, you can talk to her and tell her your issues and she doesn't rush you at all and has never ever been more than attentive to me and my mother Teodora! I can even text her if my mom has an emergency or needs to be seen without an appt.

Dr Polack has been my doctor for over 10 years. I have waited to see her but it has always been worth the wait. Dr Polack cares about her patients and has been an awesome doctor. I rate her 10 stars!
