Dr. Clarence Asher Holland Jr, MD

Ended up having RNY Gastric Bypass with Holland. Had a stomach ulcer develop 2 years post-op and Dr. Holland (along with a GI doc) treated me for over a year. There was no change in the ulcer and I was told to just stay on the meds. I went to see another doc and the new doc opted for surgery to remove the ulcer. Thank God he did! The ulcer was infected and the doc said I had an abscess in my stomach that was full on pus and the ulcer was perforated (I had a hole in my stomach because of it). The doc told me that I was luck to survive the ordeal and those patients that he has seen survive this usually end up with a feeding tube for a minimum of 6 months until they can recover. Thank God the new surgeon operated and I have no feeding tube! I am going through the phases again just like a new RNY patient but at least I am alive and can eat on my own without the tube....no thanks to Holland! Either Holland is not the great doctor I thought he was or he just didn't want to deal with… fixing me by doing surgery again. Either way, I lost all confidence in Holland!
