Dr. Claudia Lia Altmann, MD

Dr. Altmann correctly diagnosed my infection as osteomyelits. She was always there to check up on me. Her nurse Lisa, who every week changed the dressing on my Picc line and is amazing, is probably one of the best nurses I'll ever meet! They both are amazing at returning phone calls as quickly as possible. When I had allergic reactions to the antibiotics I was on, she had a new one for me to take right away. She even picked one that would work around my schedule. She is so caring and still is concerned about me to this day. I could not have found a better doctor! No matter what she really is only looking out for her patients. If you need an infectious disease doctor, you should seriously meet Dr. Altmann because once she starts treating you, you will realize that you could not have found a better doctor!

Dr. Altman indentified the particular strains of bacteria that were infecting my shoulder joint and prescribed and monitored an antibiotic treatment plan that effectively cleared the infection. She was always attentive and promptly ordered changes in the treatment when blood tests showed antibiotic concentrations trending toward limits of the desired range. She was prompt in acting when I reported symptoms of an opportunistic yeast infection that developed at the site of the PICC tube and prescribed an ointment which quickly resolved that problem. Additionally, her staff was outstanding in caring for me during exams and visits.

this ID doc was my 12 day hospital stay infectious disease doc. She was a total flake. She failed to read other doctor's notes, didn't keep current on my care, and came to conclusions that NINE other physicians would continually dispute. On the day of my discharge, she came to the room for her daily visit. I was dressed, the room was packed, she talked to two of the other surgeons out in the hall.....but failed to recognize I was being discharged, and talked about the following day's blood work. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
