Dr. Clay Matthew Burnett, MD

I was told by my cardiologist that I needed a double bypass and our Florida Heart Group recommended Dr. Clay Burnett. From the very first, he put me at ease. He explained the procedure completely and told me what my first few days would bring and what my efforts to recover would mean to my getting better. He showed such complete confidence and was compassionate but totally honest. I have had other surgeries that were done by wonderful doctors that restored my quality of life and my ability to play sports, but Dr. Burnett gave me more than a quality of life - he saved my life and I am very thankful to God for this skillful and wonderful doctor.

A month ago on Jan. 14,2019 I had quadruple bypass surgery performed by Dr. Burnett. I wanted to use Burnett's partner Dr. Accola but found he only does heart valves. From my first appointment with Burnett I knew he was the man I wanted to cut on me, and I was absolutely right. How can a doctor cut a 10 inch slice in your skin and cut your breast bone open and 2 days later I am up and walking? With ONLY MINOR pain. Truly amazing and nothing I ever thought would be possible. His staff was also truly amazing, all my wants were taken care of. Florida Hospital was fantastic!!!!! I was put in a private room after the surgery and had a view of a lake right outside with ducks & geese swimming around. What a place!!! Every time I pushed the call device they answered within 30 seconds and my request was always filled within 10 minutes. I was more than truly IMPRESSED. Cudo's to the nursing staff who always walked in to my room with a smile on their faces. I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel. I… want to say a big THANKS to everyone that had a part in my operation. He did a triple bypass surgery on me and I think I never going to forget everyhting happened to me on all process of my surgery and He always there, since my diagnostic until I left from his office during my recovery process. Went in hospital for shortness of breath n ended up needing quadruple bypass. Dr Burnett explained everything n put me at ease. He truly is a brilliant man and I'm so fortunate to have him as my surgeon. He saved my life and I am very thankful.

Dr Burnett was a exceptional surgeon and person and I was a challenging patient. I threw several issues at him during my surgery and recovery in ICU and CCU. He stepped up and provided professional care and excellent bed side manner to me and my wife. If I could give 5 stars for him and his staff I would do so in heartbeat. You can not ask for a more caring and professional doctor and staff. Thank you.
