Dr. Clay Coston Rowe, MD

This doctor is rude and unconcerned with the health of his patients. He seems angry (as he bangs on his keyboard) and not short on snarky comments. My husband and I were both put off by his unprofessional attitude. This office and doctor is not suitable if you have on-going medical diagnosis which require follow up and regular care. I would NOT recommend.

I always wait over an hour. They call me to set up an appt to discuss my bloodwork and then don’t have the results. Dr Rowe has no bedside manners or patience. His office is old and not managed well. I will find another Doctor.

I think a lot of Dr Rowe and really liked him also had a lot of respect for him and his diagnosis, but his nurse not so much. See his office has a sign outside No Appointments Necessary Walk Ins Welcome. That's not so according to his nurse, I have a hard time making appts. and have been to Dr Rowe's office 3 times signed in 1 time at 11:30 to be told they was going to lunch at 12:00 therefore I couldn't be seen (no one was in the waiting room). I was there because of a refill that my pharmacy tried to call his office for for a wk with no response at all (this is for my bipolar meds) things got so bad for me my ins. company called them while I was on the phone then the pharmacy beeped in and said his office just called in the refill. The last time I went in was for my refills and to talk to him about seeing the neurosurgeon because of recommendation for back and neck surgery, I was and am sacred, so I thought I would talk with Dr. Rowe. I was not suppose to be out of bed, but needed… refills and reassurance from my dr signed in at 10:30(1person in waiting rm) had to wear back brace all the time and walk with cane also was told not to pickup anything heavier than a gal. of milk til bone density test results were done to see what was going to be the best type of surgery that could be done , lady at desk ask what I needed to see dr for, I told her I would like to get my flu shot, refills and needed to talk with him concerning results of my back and then comes this very rude NURSE an says we don't have them(the flu shots) the young lady got a little embarrassed an said to me we'll probably have them in Oct. I said thats fine the pharmacies are advertising they have them, then the nurse turned ard. and ask the girl what else is she needing the dr for the girl started trying to tell her but all she could get out was refills and that rude nurse said she can't be seen for that today she'll have to make a appt. for that she can only be seen if she is sick. I then got a bit angry considering that I was in a great deal of pain. I just replied to the not SO FRIENDLY NURSE that she needed to take her unconcern self outside and chg. the sign for starters and if she couldn't see that I was in a back brace and finish listening to why I was there, I then just started walking away, the girl ask if I wanted to make a appt. I replied, absolutely not I will just get a hold of my insurance company and find another dr for me this is the 3rd strike. Like I said I really like Dr. Rowe but his nurse does him nor his office justice.

I thought I loved this dr but turns out I can't stand them. My script was stolen so I called them and they can't help so my fiancé found a script of mine with a refill to get me by till my next visit. Well I'm new to the whole dr thing and getting scripts filled, so the pharmacy says they have to call Rowe to see if it is ok and I went back and they said it was ok then his assistant found out and they drop me from there office with not even bothering telling me you can't get a script filled from previous. His assistant is very rood and wouldn't give me an explanation and hung up on me. So now they left me without meds that I have to have. Very poor quality when it comes to a patients well being

Dr. Rowe is the exception to the rule when it comes to the negative stereotypes so many people have about doctors..The wait time was minimal, he is always courteous and never makes you feel like you are being rushed..His diagnostic skills are outstanding..I should know..I'm an RN and have worked with some of the best physicians around ( and some not-so-great ones, too) but I was very impressed when I moved to Gadsden from Miami, FL and found such an outstanding Primary Care Physician. He is friendly, attentive, a great listener, and he doesn't jump to conclusions and just hand you a bunch of pills to mask symptoms..He wants you to get better and to stay well..My kind of doctor!!

He works with you,not against you. Great Dr!

I tried getting an appointment for sinus infection and was gonna go ahead and get my heartburn prescription refilled and I was told I had to make two different appointments. It sounds like all they want is the co-pays and it's always a rush visit when I go.

I was a patient of Dr. Rowe's for about four years. He is a very nice man and I think a very good doctor. However, that is where good things at this office end. I do not claim to know how a doctor should run his or her office, but, the service for prescription refills is beyond poor. I called several times through the years for normal refills. Every time it took at least four to five days for them to call or fax the pharmacy. That is why I left this office. I really liked Dr. Rowe, but, I feel there is no reason why a person cannot fax or call in a prescription on the same day it is called in- or at least the next day. Beware that this will happen to you if you choose this clinic.

This was my first visit with Dr. Rowe. He was very attentive to my medical history and to my health concerns. I am not rating him for the categories of Diagnosis and Follow UP After Visit. I appreciate that he wasn't quick to diagnose my symptoms, and I am glad that he has genuine concern for my overall health. You do not get this kind of attention with an HMO.

I called last wk, was giving an appt for the 12, Oct. i was only asking for a different insulin since Levemir isn't working... I went in, he never listens, life's a joke, a patient is stupid to him. He faxes in a script for another insulin to my druggist that cost 600, medicare didn't pay for it, I spent 3 days trying to get him on phone, or help from his ofc. Druggist even talk to his nurse the 13th... finally wed even when i call, they don't call ? I'm told to go to a endocrinoglist got appt for the 4th... so I die between then and there? I hate that office and that doctor... please add my name
