Dr. Clayton Shane Howell, DO

I have 2 experiences with this doctor. Horribly rude and dismissive every time. Awful bedside manners and very condescending. I would’ve rather just stayed home sick and not dealt with him. I don’t know how he’s still employed with CareATC. Would not recommend this “doctor” to anyone.

I tried to go see my doctor, Dr. Howell a week ago when I was ill. He couldn’t see me because he apparently was booked but he did care enough to send me for a Covid test. Test came back negative later that same evening but do you think the doctor called to inquire about his “former” patient? No. He never did. I guess it was a good thing I visited a virtual doctor. The virtual doctor I spoke with prescribed meds for a sinus infection which is what I told Dr. Howell’s nurse earlier that same day that he was too busy to see me. Whatever happened to the days when a family physician would follow up on their patients? I’m off to find a real family physician.

I’ve been seeing Dr H for a few years. I’ve always felt that when I leave his office that my concerns and issues have been dealt with. He will shoot you straight and has incredible expertise.

Dr. Howell is arrogant,rude and very unfriendly. Wears his degrees on his shoulder so to say. He and his staff do talk about patients when they think the door is closed. Unfortunately, with insurances these days, people have to take what they get.

He listened to all of my concerns and needs as a patient. Gave me his advice and spent alot of time with me and talked to me about all my options and now I'm in physical therapy and I am doing great. His staff is always welcoming and also listen! Love that I never have to wait and I feel like they are very thoughtful! - vanessa benson

Dr. Howell had his assistant call me with wrong info. They then filled out paperwork with different info than what I’d been told on the visit. It took days to get it straightened out and at one point he called me on the phone and yelled at me without letting me respond. He and his assistant are always short, rushed, and snippy. They also make comments about me behind a door that they must think is sound proof. it isnt. Honestly, he is a good Doctor so I was willing to put up with their attitude until he crossed the line by calling me at home.

Sometimes he will tell you what you need to hear. I like him a lot.
