I initially saw Dr. Rios under an emergency situation. I broke my ankle in three different places. It was very bad and required multiple surgeries - first to put in a plate and multiple screws and then to remove the hardware. To say I was stressed when this injury first happened would be an understatement. So many people in the ER working on me trying to stablelize my injury. It was scary and very painful. Dr. Rios happened to be on call, and I met him, for the first time, the following morning. He was so gentle with his exam and compassionate about my injury and ER experience. I felt like I had stepped into a different realm. After meeting him, I had total confidence in his ability to take care of me. Surgeries with him were very positive experiences, when you have to go through this type of scenerio . He was very skilled and compassionate. I was able to walk on my ankle in 4 months time. Considering the severity of the breaks, this was impressive. After several years… following the surgeries, I do not have any pain in my ankle and you would never know I suffered such a bad injury. Dr. Rios is a very skilled and compassionate surgeon - a wonderful, unique combination that is worth repeating and emphasizing . I can't say enough about how fortunate I was that he was on call the night I broke my ankle. I would highly recommend Dr. Rios as a physician!!

Dr Rios is amazing - he truly takes time to listen and actually cares. He knew I was struggling with panic attacks from the pending surgery and he even did my pre op physicals himself to put me more at ease. He is an exceptional surgeon and is one of the most highly respected in ct. he is truly the real deal in both skill and diagnostics and working with people.

Dr. Rios performed my ACL reconstruction and he was incredibly professional and knowledgeable. His diagnosis was concise and accurate and made me very comfortable when explaining my options for the surgery. The recommendations he gave for pre and post op we’re beneficial. 7 months after the surgery I’m already back to running and playing sports!

Dr.Rios is very unique, in that he doesn't rush you off to surgery at first assessment He is careful, and conservativily thinks through the diagnosis and treatment plan before he makes a decision. He's doing everything he can to keep me out of surgery for a displaced clavicle fracture...I have total confidencial in this doctor..I am an RN with 46 years of experiencia and feel that I am qualified,to say that he is among the best!

misdiagnosis; lack of concern and followup care

Dr. Rios performed my ACL reconstruction. He spends time with me to address any questions or concerns I may have. He is attentive and caring and always puts me at ease. My recovery so far has been excellent. I would highly recommend Dr. Rios to anyone who needs knee surgery.
