Dr. Clyde O Hurst, MD

After a year of other Doctor’s Dr. Hurst cured me. He listened to me and helped me understand what was going on with MY body. I am sad to know he is retiring and will actually miss my visits with him. I wish him the best in retirement and hope he decides to retain a couple of us on as patients.

Dr. Hurst treated me when he was a resident at Tulane in 1985. I asked to be his patient when I saw 2 other doctors at Tulane who didn't help me and had no empathy or compassion. Clyde Hurst worked wonders . I would recommend him to anyone. From the reviews I have read on here I can see that the is still the same caring, wonderful doctor he was back in 1985.

I have seen Dr. Hurst for many years now. I went to other doctors that did not understand my illness. He is amazing. I read that someone was upset that he had no staff. He deals with you directly. He gets back to you and doesn't leave you hanging. I am not a fan of staff, so it works well for me. He is on time to the moment. I never wait unless I am early. Time wise, its a tight ship and you can't complain about that. He is one of a kind. I do not know where I would be without him.

When I first came to terms I needed help was when I was hospitalized. Didn't seem like it would be hard to fix. Went to a Dr. got sicker. Went to a new Dr.and become even sicker. I was put on so much medication at such high dosages there was no me. I was wrongly diagnosed. I was lost under overprescribed high dosage medication that wasn't even what treated my illness. Ironically the most expensive, newest medication too. I failed really bad and one more time tried again, and thank goodness I found Dr. Hurst. He knows about medication . Side effects, interactions to other medications, interactions with your physical health and he asks, he listens then problem solves. He prescribes medication because he is a DR. and a highly paid salesman for Drug Companies. Dr Hurst counsels you and teaches you cognitive thearpy skills in a very relatable way. He has boundaries but he is in no way cold. If you do what you are suppose to then you understand he is there to help. He isn't going to tell you… what you want to hear all the time. He may not tell your family or other people what they want to hear. That is what makes him so excellent.

Doc is his own staff, so I gave him a 4 star. He always calls back and works with me. Unless I get there early, I do not wait. He is one of my favorite doc's. I have been with him for years now.

My appointment with this doctor was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. He has no office staff and is not accessible to his patients. ...
